Now, as far as I can tell this has never been suggested, maybe it has.
This would make an already unforgiving health system even more so, but It seems like it might conceivably help realism.
What if after being hit, a player's health was capped for that life at some level below 100%?
For instance, If I am hit once and my health drops below some level, my health would now be capped at, say, 85% or so; maybe after a second hit, it drops to 75%, such that though my bleeding can be stopped after 1 or 2 hits, I can't just get shot, get healed, and walk away like nothing ever happened. Though there are certainly people who get shot an absurd number of times and survive, it seems like in all likelihood if I was hit 3 or 4 times I'm not going to be doing any fighting anytime soon, such that even if I did survive after a 3-month recovey or whatever, I would probably be combat ineffective after that many hits; I would thusbe , in a respawning game, effectively "dead" such that I would just bleed out and die after a certain number of significant hits.
