Re: Windows Vista Users - Troubleshooting Guide for PR
Quick question, i can load maps fine, but after about one minute, i get "there is a problem with your connection," my ping then spikes really high and it keeps doing it every 30 - 60 seconds. i've tried turning off my voip, no luck. any suggestions, other than the obvious?

Re: Windows Vista Users - Troubleshooting Guide for PR
See, for me, when I open up PR (Version 0874) it just says PR.exe has stopped responding.
Things I've tried.
Running as admin
Running as XP SP2
Running as admin and XP SP2
AND
Running it normally
None worked, I hate installing and re-installing, I'll try that though if it's recommended.

Re: Windows Vista Users - Troubleshooting Guide for PR
I am having a problem that has not come up in any of the threads I have looked at so far.
I used to have version 0.85 or 0.84, I don't remember, I tried installing the patch to 0.87 and it kept telling me I needed to have 0.87 installed before I could install the patch for 0.87. Obviously something is up. After trying various options including running as administrator, running in compatibility mode, etc... it still would not install. So I removed PR completely from my computer and downloaded both the Core and Levels for 0.87, went to install it, and the same issue. "You must have version 0.87 installed, would you like to go to the download page now?". I have no idea what is wrong and have tried all options I could think of. It would be really nice to play this again.
I installed in this order:
BF2
BF2: SF
BF2 1.41 patch
BF2 1.50 patch

Re: Windows Vista Users - Troubleshooting Guide for PR
Nevermind, I noticed that the Core and Levels were 23 and 17 mb, far too small to actually be the files so I re-downloaded the Core and it just installed. I will install Levels and if it works, sorry for the useless posts.

Re: Windows Vista Users - Troubleshooting Guide for PR
try running in windowed mode to see if you get an error message, maybe some of the files you downloaded are corrupted

Re: Windows Vista Users - Troubleshooting Guide for PR
Hi i recently brought BF2 via steam and downloaded PR correctly and everthing, but when ever i run it, it always tells me to correct the path so i check the path and its was directly on the pr.exe. I am thinking that because steam is a compleate **** and i was an idiot to buy BF2 on it maybe thats screwing it up, I am running Windows Vista 64bit this is driving me insane because i have just spent over 9 hours downloading and installing PR and the latest BF2 updates..
Please please comment back soon

Re: Windows Vista Users - Troubleshooting Guide for PR
If anyone is having ttroubles with the screen going black at the start, their is quite a few possible reasons. In some cases, its a graphical issue such as resloution and screen refreesh rate. I've got a laptop that runs 61Hz, but the battlefield 2 files are designed and default at 60Hz, this would be a good place to start, and just make sure your res is the same to remove any other type of graphical issue you have. I'll probably update on more when i get tthem, but to be honest, screen refresh rate has a huge effect on start ups.
