I'd love to donate, but I'm not even sure if I have $10 in my account at the moment...would hate to get overdrafted.

If you get into that I can write down such a list that you'll fall asleep even before coming to Haitima21212 wrote:maybe...first donate to Haiti then...PR lol? just saying...peoples lives kinda moar imporant than... a game
Anyways...I also would like to donate at least 5 bucks every month. Actually this is even very much under what PR makes me to save by forcing me stay at home instead of going out and spending money

Just wow. I know so many americans that hate being seen as the ******** of the world. You aint exactly helping their cause. Btw, dont sneak in a political argument and then go and hide under the "stick to the topic" rule.Wh33lman wrote:tbh, I don't know why we should care about Haiti. But this is not a political discussuion, so back to the topic at hand.
On the subject of donations to PR. I would feel guilty if I played this game as much as I do and never donated. Of course some people cant donate for some reasons, and that is fine. I find it appaling though that 75% of the people who play this game cant afford to give a few bucks away, when they can afford the computers to play it on high settings.

Re: Donations to Project Reality
I don't know why I haven't donated yet.
I am unemployed.
I have three kids to feed.
My wife works a **** fast food job, but finding $5-10 dollars lying around is definitely not the hardest thing in the world. I still buy stuff for myself and my family. Stuff that we don't really need (like beer!). I do spend most of my free time playing this game only(For the most part). So why not donate? I've got Paypal set up. I do all of my banking online. I have absolutely no excuse not to donate.
OK. So I will.

People don't donate because its a mod and the team were and are still willing to give us this great quality work for free, if PR charged (which they will do for PR2) for the mod I imagine people would pay without thinking twice about it.

You have to click on the agreement and follow the steps and it will take you to Paypal's website. The default is to select a credit card, but if you have a balance in your Paypal account, you can select that as the source of funding. You just have to click on the "Change Funding Source" link on Paypal and then you can choose whatever you want to donate with.

Re: Donations to Project Reality
Wow, just yesterday the Donations to PR were down $50 from their monthly goal. It's good to see that they've made their goal this month. Although I don't speak for the Devs or anything, I am happy to see that they made their goal this month, because that means they'll have the necessary resources to continue development on this wonderful game (it hasn't been a mod for quite a long time). I hope that even though they've met their goal this month, many of you will continue to donate if you can afford to.
I know and understand that there are more important things out there like kids, family, bills and school, etc. But for those of use who can afford it, $10 is a movie, a 12 pack of beer, or a fast food meal that we can forgo at least once a month. Thanks to all the Devs for their hard work and I am extremely looking forward to v.9!

eh? for you information donated to haiti just this weekend and i think a country that just sufferd an earthquake (plus hurricane) needs some money.[R-CON]Rudd wrote:sell your computer and send them the money you get.
Sanctimony is only acceptable when you're actually practicing what you preach; especially since I see you are a supporting member, what's wrong? The world was perfect and didn't need charity, then Haiti happened?
and yes, I do give to charity with money and time (volunteering), PR is one of the luxuries I decided to spend money and time on.

Re: Donations to Project Reality
thanks guys we appreciate the donations...
the money goes towards web server costs and especially bandwidth costs, which sky rocket right around release time...
any extra money is put into a bank account and stored for the future, for things like buying C4 licenses (which are required for every dev whos working on it) and server hardware upgrades (which Im sure we will have to do soon) as well as VBB license renewals, etc etc.
theres alot of overhead in developing and maintaining a mod like PR, and if theres no donations, than the devs themselves have to eat the cost, in addition to putting so many hours into it.
Thankfully you guys have been doing a really good job on donations, the whole team much appreciates it and gives us that extra bit of motivation to continue our work =)
