You must do it

I have another question about.9 and mumble, since its supposed to come with it.

Do we need to delete the current mumble to get the .9 mumble?
I just don't want any mix ups on patch day

Anyway they'll tell us what to do when it will be released, and as you'll have to download the files during a couple hours, you will have plenty of time to remove mumble if it's needed.

Start with starting MUMBLE (with admin), then run PR. Log in and so on. Find your server, start loading then you can ALT+TAB and double click the server name in the mumble, remember to unmute yourself if you've done that :)

We have a full guide here, lil502 :

A Guide to PR Mumble 0.5 - Reality Teamwork

It includes the EA hotfix, if you have problems alt-tabbing.

Bear in mind that the Reality Teamwork Mumble Server has a single channel, which means that enemies that are close to you can hear you - therefore the guide has been written for that. Some other servers like TG use separate channels for each team.

Well PR is all about realism. I actually like the fact the enemies can hear you. It gives a whole new meaning to "clear comms" order.

Most armies can't understand the language of the opposing armies (such as US vs Chinese).

I would love a system where the other team heard gibberish in the opposition team's language when mumble was being used by the opposing team. Maybe even have a kit (on of the regular kits) that would hear it normally like a translator.

That would be awesome :P

I was just about to say what about translators, who could easily and quickly just tell their squad what's being said.

whenever i Alt+Tab out of the game to pick my server its all good. until i click back into the game again and then the game screen comes up black. but this only happens if I join a server and then I alt+tab and try to get back in.

Its the same mumble version ... so no.

The next prmumble version will be based on the 1.2 vanilla version of mumble, but as there are a few things to iron out with that yet it will be a while.

You know, I downloaded the Alt-Tab hot fix as well, and the same thing happens to me. What I've noticed is, if you Alt-Tab back into the game, you're fine, but if you simply use your mouse to click on the game in your taskbar, it goes black. I'm not sure if this works 100% of the time, but I have been able to get back in and this is how it's worked the handful of times I did it, so give it a try. If it still doesn't work, well, let me know what you find out.

-If you have alt-tab issues even with the alt-tab fix then make a new account, worked for me.

The fix for the alt tab worked for me no problem.
