Custom weapons? possible?
if anyone ever played AA if you played the SF(speciel forces) maps, there is the ability to add things or take off things to your gun, exampe
put a red dot scope on, or a 4x scope, put a grande launcher on or a bipod
maybe thats not realistic (ant sure not in sf ^^) but i would think that if a sf guy was going in a mission he would dicktate what weapon wants and what modification he wants to put on it.

Customization of firearms isn't really a unique or special thing, this is why they have armorers who add rail mounts, repair/replace damaged optics, etc. I would say though there should be positives and negativies associated with what you take with you though to balance this out. If you take a M-4 loaded with a bipod, sling, Reflex Sight, Night Vision Scope, AN/PEQ-2, M-203 PI and expect to move quickly carrying it your in for a surprise...
This gets back to the idea of mission specifics, if your going on a snatch and grab you want a suppressor on the end of your barrel or a suppressed pistol... you just would need an amorers screen to access to modify or change weapons around I would think. The original Rainbow Six had a equipment screen where you selected weapons before each mission, same for Soldier of Fortune: Double Helix for example.
Though for the beginning release there is something to be said for not having these options and having to make do with the kit your issued... just like in the real world.

Ive thought about this, it would definitly be fun to do that, and Special forces will customize weapons for certain missions im pretty sure. It would be a nice add on to the game, such as if your going to insert into a town, you may want a dual drum mag that holds 100 rounds instead of 30 rounds and a red dot for easier, quicker aiming.

well it would be awsome to pick, though balance would be easy to find just difficult part is trying to find the oppsite sides counter part things for that gun but that all can be found in the internet

i had an idea. there was some talking about the 'increase rank, get better weapons' implemented in bf2. this could be a good way to use it. when you get higher in rank you can choose more mods for sf class.this prevents noobs running around with kickass weapons and getting killed by anyone, while the sf class should be for those with more experience and ability. (unless of course theyre stupid enough to choose sf even though it's no use cause you have no mods)
