Using Mumble

Post by ghoststorm11 »

Is mumble still worth using? I have been skeptical about using the program, and I just wanted to see if servers were still using it.

TG, RT (who enforce mumble) Petulika (spelling?!!), BigD all have large numbers of mumblers most nights.

http://www.realitymod.com/mumble for downloads and instructions etc

I can't play without mumble anymore, come to me my beautiful speaking smurfs.

Definitely download it, I can't say that a lot of servers use it (maybe around 5) but it is really great when everyone is using it, so you can communicate with people out of your squad. It isn't really that much of a hassle to set up, either.

You can find servers that have lots of mumble users, and you'll have good games on the servers Rudd mentioned, they are well admined and enforce mumble use when full.

Unplayable without mumble, RT enforces mumble so that is a good server to play on.

Yeah mumble is OK, but some mumblers are somethimes anoying, couse they talk on mumble like on telephone, bla bla bla, then u can not know what is what and where is where. Someone is singing others are talking yesterdey boobie catch, and you only hear: "I saw women with 36D" after few second "SW..SW.." i go : "where, where is that *****?" hehe ;D

if there are 64 people wanting to use mumble, and they all wait for the others to join before joining themselves...no one will join.

I'm actually kinda excited for the next version of mumble now because I've had to tell other squad leaders off for communicating in rediculous ways

"Squad 5 here, we have a supply truck so, if you need repairs or supplies, just ask and we'll come along and repair or resupply you, if its safe ofc, so check for hats"

....

"squad 3 here, just say 'repairs and supplies ready on request' next time"

Can't wait to see what we can do with the vMumble 1.2 whispering function on the PR official server if the next version does indeed include that functionality.

Well I see Mumble as pass for some servers. I put mute/deafen on, so I don't have to listen other jackasses singing Kokomo and Never Gonna Give You Up... -.-

And all cool. :D

"Is it still worth using" how do you play a teamgame without communication ?

Irl if you deny the enemy all means to communicate you have won.

I like the way TG have set up thier channels. With 2 different channels, one for each team.
RT channel is usually one mess but I still enjoy playing with mumble rather than not.

It's extremely helpfull if you are in a 3 tank squad.

Mumble is beautiful for armor and I would consider one of the best and most teamwork invoking innovations employed in PR to date...

And I dislike this quite much since the players dont bother changing the channels after the map changes. So it will end up in situation where the wrong people are on the wrong channel and it causes some unnecessary alt+tabbing / crashing (atleast for me)

Think you are not supposed to change channel, you just need to figure out which channel to join at first when you join and then stay on that channel, players in the team won't change after round.

thankfully the TG admins are happy to move peeps in mumble, especially Cougar and Dispo, true gentlemen these men are.

Just say

"Can an admin please move me to team 1/2 in mumble, I'll crash if I alt tab" and if they are on (as they often are) they'll move ya.

BUT REMEMBER TO MAKE UR MUMBLE NAME THE SAME AS UR INGAME NAME
