why i cant destroy supplytruck with one grenade?

i played yesterday barracuda and me and my friend founded one supplytruck and few more enemys vehicles abandoned in there.

so i destroyed one with 9key grenade and then i throwed one normal grenade inside the supplytruck and it didnt blow up.
so i throw second grenade inside it and little smoke start coming from it.
three grenades inside it,make it smoking and then finally it exploded.

is that engine thing or some gameplay thing or what?
i kind a knew it that it wont explode but i start to think why.
so why?

Because the incendiary grenade only does damage for a split second, you have a high chance the grenade "misses" and does no damage at all.

I usually throw it below the vehicle where it hits the tires.

As Mendoza above says, the best tactic is to throw it underneath the vehicle using controlled throw (right mouse), then run away.

just get a buddy and pump some small arms in to it and it'l go down, very fast if you've also used something else.

Though I think the idea is to encourage you to prepare heavy weapons before hand, LATs, HATs, 50cals, friendly support armed vehicles etc.

The normal grenades are not made for destroying assets. I don't know how many grenades it will take to destroy a supply truck or a humwee but it's going to take alot. It is definitly on purpose that you cannot take out assets with the normal grenade.

Frag Grenades aren't built for mass explosive, it's built to explode bringing fragments everywhere. Fragments can't destroy a truck on it's own.

Its usually good to throw a incendiary inside the vehicle if you can, like the back of the trucks. The interiors of FAVs, etc.

if 1 grenade = supply truck destroyed
then 1 GL round = suppply truck destroyed

theoretically this would lead to some serious grenadier camping
