7+PILOT = 8

You could try balancing yourself in it without actually entering the vehicle but good luck with that

if only there was a way around the limit a vehicle could hold. Does anyone know why bf2 made an eight player limit per vehicle?

Probably because the original game didn't need any more than that.

If you try sitting in the middle of the chinook while it's flying, there is a very high chance that you will have a fatal collision with the vehicle. It's not a good method really

Unless you go really.......really......slowly :-P

This news makes me sad. I thought the devs had found a way around the hardcoded 8 when I saw the troops riding on top of the APCs :(

Someday the source code will be in the hands of the devs! Probably not, but it becomes more viable as the bf2 engine becomes older...right?...I know :-(

Not really. EA will never hand out the source code just like that. PR2 will be a playable game with everything you can think of before EA will even think about handing out their sources :p .

EA is protecting valuable intellectual property by keeping their source code, 99% of all game companies do exactly the same thing. It's just smart business, and it's not going to change anytime soon.

8 people in a Chinook (or in any vehicle) is logical for now.

1 Chinook + 15 Inf + 1 Noob Pilot = -21 points and loss of at least 4-5 specialist kits. What a brilliant start :D

There would be alot more slots in the chinook if it was possible whit the engine

I just hope it can drop two crates and haul a full complement of 8 troops since that at least seems realistic for what the engine allows.

You can actually transport more than 8 people in BF2, just like FH2's glider you can make it enterable with a ramp or sth and then you just enter there close the ramp like the door on FH2's glider or dont even close it just hop inside without actually being in the vehicle....,...............
