Although I didn't play PR back then, I can still appreciate the feeling that video instills. I imagine at the time that the 0.5 trailer generated a lot of hype prior to it's release, but now that video seems to serve as more of a memory of what once was. The song is very fitting that it is exciting yet melancholic at the same time, this is indeed a fitting title for this thread.

Actually, i'd like to see this release as the return of 0.75. Finally the things that nearly killed PR for me has been undone, and it's been greatly remade into something fun again.

(I'm offcourse talking about Civillian spawntimes, out of seat commanders and decreased spawn penalties...)

Basically I'm glad to see a PR update that tones down the punishing mecanichs instead of the opposite (which has been the case with just about EVERY major release) That + the new streamlined balance, factions, weapons, maps, graphics, huds and thingamajigs will probably make this the best release of PR yet.

Heh, I chose this video for a college project, redoing the whole soundtrack, I might post it here when it's done... if it's not too **** of course.
Chose this trailer because it -was- the best PR trailer I could find.

0:48-0:55, is the selling point of that trailer... not that it sells anything that is!=D

The music fits so well with every clip used... makes me wish I had got into PR sooner.

Well, I think the thing is PR is too streamlined for the uber-hardcore-realism gamer now....geared more for accuracy than just plain ol fun. I mean, realistically you wont have an A10 buzzing around a 2km patch of land (Basrah), so that justifies removing it. But my GOD, was it fun!!!

I'd have to say that with PR overall. Reinstatement of many air vehicles is so needed...

The funny thing is that threads about 0.5 trailer always come up during new releases. :D
New trailer is quite nice too. :)

Very awesome.

What's that song and who's it by? I've heard it a bunch of times but never got the name.

That was the menu-video for 0.5 aswell, IIRC.

Incorrect, the Spec Ops kit only had the silenced sidearms in 0.75 and 0.8
Rudd;1251229']^ the Best PR trailer in PR history (though I think AD's video editing is better now than then)

Umm, Maitros made the 0.5 trailer, not AfterDune. And the quality is pretty good considering there was no HQ or HD available on YouTube 3 years ago ;)
mao was awesome and should be brought back with the new grass statics :D
Doubt they'd work on the slopes and Mao worked fine with undergrowth since the map was small and dense.

I distinctly recall Mao Valley being awful because if you went up to the top of the hill in centre you couldn't see the grass in the valley below; so everyone diving for cover was just an easy kill 8-)
