better fps after newer ati driver including visual c++?

i seem to be getting a better fps after installing a slightly newer ati driver which included visual c++ redist. the thing is, i really doubt that my previous driver was bad as it was fairly new as well.

I have HD4850 too. Will try this out. Although, my current driver isn't that old.
It's worth a try.
