Crash on Splash (No Error)

I'm having the same issue.

click on icon - splash screen loads

splash screen disappears - and so does 0.9


The only hint of a error message I'm getting is,
for a split second after the splash screen disappears
my monitor (yes monitor, like when pressing the menu button on the side of the monitor) displays a

"not optimum mode"
"recommended mode 1920x1200"
"?'

At least that's what I think it says after only displaying for a split second after each CTD


Please help.

*UPDATE*

Thought I'd try installing the BF2 1.5 patch again
(even though the pr installer said that it had installed it, at least I think that's what it said)
just to make sure, I installed the 1.41 patch before the 1.5 as per the directions and WALLAH!!

Touch wood, PR loads fine now.

Even got to have a little go at Silent Eagle at 3:30am with 5 others
