shortcut PR.exe problem

Post by dr.zyklon »

so i just finished installing the new release, start it up, log in and... no go..

it tells me that i have to change the shortcut, there is something wrong because everything is correct, i tried like 10 times already playing with PR.exe and its target etc ("C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe") and it keeps telling me the same thing, any help?

Im also having PR.exe problems.

When i click on the short cut to open the game it comes up as:

pr.exe has stopped working

It then says that it is looking for a solution but it is unable to find one and closes the program.

Ive done a full re-install of bf2 and the patches then the PR mod as described in the 0.9 manual but it keeps happening.

Any help would be appreciated.

On Win 7 you MUST run the game as an administrator! Just right click on the PR shortcut and select "Run As Administrator". I had the exact same problem, this fixed it! Happy hunting :)

Anyone having exe problems and failing to start and have already got it set to running as admin try running normal bf2, activate the pr mod from there and then see if you can load pr normally from the pr shortcut. Worked for me and a few other people!

I think you need to generate your profiles directory first. Log into vanilla BF2 and retrieve profiles, close down , then start PR.

If your profiles are there, try deleting them and then doing this.
