[0909] Possible performance bug?

Post by Snares »

As of PR 0.9, when you load into a map on Windows 7, the game will auto-alt-tab out, switch back to Windows Basic (for the GUI theme), then immediately switch back to Windows Aero. I don't know if this is a feature or a bug, but I thought it might help you guys troubleshoot the performance problems.

mine always did this (since 1.5)... here's how i got it to do it BEFORE the game launches(instead of when map loads)....

Right click your PR shortcut.. Properties > Compatibility tab
> check Disable Visual Themes
> check Disable Desktop Composition

Then you have to do the same thing for the battlefield 2 .exe file...

doing this also got rid of the transparent ground or wall texture bugs i used to get sometimes...

Hey, thanks for the awesome tip! You might want to post that in some solution thread as well. :D
