Well, I've had this problem for quite a while now, but it just got worse.
During playing, at some point my game will randomly freeze. Unfortunately, its not just the game, but the whole PC, leaving nothing but the reset button.
I've tried several things, but I just can't spot the problem.
It used to happen all the time often at the beginning of the map, then I changed some of the settings to medium. This seems to delay the problem till about an hour or so (I checked, it seems pretty random, sometimes I can play hours on end, but I haven't had it crash before an hour now). I tried settings on low, but it doesn't change anything.
My specs:
4x2,98 i7
EVGA x58 Motherboard
3x2 Gig 1066 Kingston RAM
Winfast 8800GTX
Maybe this is relevant, sometimes during gaming, I get a sort of freeze with the sound repeating for about a second, then the game resumes.
I've tried monitoring the temparatures, but none of them seem to go up.
Any ideas?

Have you tried clearing Bf2 cache folder and defragmenting your hard drive? Does it happen with other games?

Re: PC Freeze
Nope, other games run perfectly fine, even ones that are much more graphics intensive like modern warfare 2 or mass effect 2
