VOIP working for 15-20mins Win7

Post by Tankbuster28000 »

The Computer has Windows 7, and I just fresh installed Battlefield 2 and patched it up to 1.5. After that I installed PR 0.9 , but the VOIP seems to disable it self after 15-20mins.

When I look in the VOIP settings, everything is still activated.
Anyone got a solution?

Very interesting.

Did this actually happen once, multiple times or is it guarenteed to happen?

It's guarenteed to happen, and I'm reinstalling now. But I guess VOIP will deactivate it once again after 15-20 mins

Played once again, same thing but I played a bit longer and the VOIP just returns after about 15 mins again

Can you describe in detail how it disables itself?

- Are you using USB Headphones (if so you might be suffering power management issues).
- Are you using your voip on a laptop?
- did you install 1.41 first before patching to 1.5?
- Is the microphone completely disabled when it stops working on your PR game? Can you get anything out of it inside Win7?

- Please also post your soundcard, and whether you have any extra/beta drivers installed.
- Also post what other programs you have installed that may be running at the same time.

- I assume in all of this your VOIP doesn't stop working in other games, Halflife, CODMW etc?
- check your event logs at the time it starts and stops

Is this issue solved by the Realtek drivers ?

I just wonder because I'm using X-fi card, and I dont think this is solved yet.

Win7 32 bit, Radeon 4870 (512M) and Creative SB X-Fi results game to bug in generally, ex game crashes every time I have finished a map and new map is about to be started.

Now this VOIP trouble is a new one, after about 15 mins, I cant hear my teammates any more, but they can still hear me.

I maybe have to install an extra OS like XP on another partition and run Pr from there?

I had a similar problem in Windows XP in that after several minutes VOIP would stop working.

I found the problem had to do with my audio settings in Windows itself. Specifically, I had to turn down Hardware acceleration to anything but maximum.
