arma 2 is too much pve and no pvp servers. good pvp mods but its hard to catch a pvp server. then lag is since arma 1 the problem..player always warping in pvp. thats a game killer for me.

Wanna PR with a new engine, a lillte bit more destructiv environment and grass all over in distance and better textures and full dx 9 support. NOO bloom and NOO HDR but normal-mapping ect.

This will be great"!

OMG founf this:

Ask no ??? Tell no lies. But don't knock ARMA II to much. You may wish to pick it up as I know a few DEVs like to mess with it. And who knows. A Full on PR style game play mode may just come along.

ARMA II has everything PR wants to become. It's just not been coded/scripted/modded yet for the style of play we like. And you do need a beast of a computer to run smooth. When the majority of gamers PC's are up to speed. You may wish to get this game.

^Sometimes I play Arma2 to just fly across the countryside. Very relaxing.

Epoch also convinces me to be his nurse when the TnT bunch play it. It's a good game if you know who you're playing with. It's much harder than PR though, for me at least. And sometimes the AI decides to throw a tantrum.. Hehe

I've always considered ARMAII more of a blank canvas than a full on "game"-experience. Us T&Ters love it. The PC-gaming community is full of artists, and even in the relatively short time it's been out there are some fantastic mods for it. There are lots of people waiting for a realistic, teamwork based player vs player game mode.

PR should never want to become ARMA II. PR has the beauty of military simulation with an easy to use interface. Makes it good for the people (like me) who dont want to relearn all the control mechanisms.

PR really is the best FPS game in my opinion. I dont even think of it as a "mod" or part of BF2 anymore...its a game in its own. I buy new games...such as MW2, but like you guys said...its repetitive and pointless unlocks and a level system dont do it for me.

Even the graphics (and sounds) in this game are great, although the bf2 engine is getting outdated, i still feel like no game looks as good as PR.

If i want to play a more "arcade" style of FPS, i play Team Fortress 2...that game usually has a decent amount of teamwork, but obviously if youve played it you would know its not your usual fps game. I usually like to set aside a few hours specifically for PR.

yeah man. those were major tactical operations that saw the soaking of many of my good friends. a salute to all the grass stained tshirts throughout my childhood!

MW2 is enjoyable, if you've only got 10 minutes and want to get some gaming in that might be good. also there's nothing M about it, it's not M at all

and yes unlocks are a shitty gimmick. same with achievements. by comparison IF PR had achievements it would be

MW2 or similar games = "you have killed 5 people in a row...good job"

PR = "you have successfully outflanked an opposing squad and taken out their CAS spotter...please proceed to control the area before you receive any achievements."

Actually, I played MW2 and then I played Mass Effect 2, and I don't know why, but I enjoyed Mass Effect 2 more and thought it was a better shooter game...
This may seem weird, but MW2 was always just running around and explosions and shit happening all over the screen and eye cancer.

PR is just less over the top.

Also, I always enjoyed Ghost Recon, kinda like an infantry only PR.

i like arma II. coop missions on TG are very much fun with ACE :)

but PR still tops it. i've been coming back to it for ages now. and the interruptions are rather short... :D
