A buddy and I are at his house and when we try to connect to the same server we get a cd key is invalid but when we connect to separate servers we can join no problem.
The thing is we both have two separate cd keys and two separate accounts and we just spent more than an hour to find a fix but nothing on it we both tried the reg edit fix and still can't play on the same server.
Im on Vista 64 bit and my buddy is on windows 7 64 bit
any answers?

Are you sharing am internet connection through his PC? If so use a router or hub to connect each.

the user needs to support NAT (Network address translation - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) more precisely PAT
most modern routers support it by default. what router are you using (brand, model)?
you might consider reinstalling both bf2s and double check you are each using a diffent cd-key (-> makeing sure you dont mix them up)
