I love the PR .9 release, Its awesome...just something thats been nagging at me in the back of my mind whenever I play...
It would be a completely realistic experience without the "MEC" or Middle Eastern Coalition
There, I said it
thats a big gap that from my point of view doesnt look filled by the .9 release.
just as a small suggestion, Could they be changed to Iran? A war with them is just as likely as a war with china
if you look at it politically.
Great job on .9 tho, Great update, I cant get off my PC :O

Re: MEC?
With a MEC faction you can make them anywhere in the middeleast as they aint nation specific, besides I think most people like that its only MEC if you want to you can fantasize that it is Iran and not MEC
People don't realize that autism doesn't mean they're "stupid". Just socially inept. Like rhino... > > or in a worst case scenario... Wicca. =)- Lithium fox

I found this sentence quite funny and since this is a war game forum I will put it here. No offense to the french just a good laugh.
"Going to war without France is like going deer hunting without an accordion. All you do is leave behind a lot of noisy baggage."

Re: MEC?
I both agree and disagree. I very much see your point that the MEC are a highly unrealistic faction and represent one of the biggest inconsistencies with PR. That being said, I very much enjoy playing as and against them and feel that they have been developed to a very high quality standard. They also present the opportunity for the development team to place them into all kinds of scenarios, without having to worry about criticism regarding whether the particular engagement would actually take place (reference Beirut).
I do not want to see them removed from PR, and a name change would not accomplish anything of value.

Re: MEC?
PR is kinda set on what DICE did in the original BF2. Totaly not realistic but its just a game. I mean China vs USA? This aint the Cold War. But if this would happen then MEC would represent a unified force between Middle Easter countries. The thing thats NOT realistic is the Insurgents. With MEC being a powerfull force in the "PR" world they wont allow US and its allies to go into cities and occupy cities. It should be changed so that the Ins. would be fighting MEC so as to simulate a "revelution".

Re: MEC?
definitely not. instead of having some realistic battles/factions lets remove them in favor of unrealistic factions. nothxma21212 wrote:PR is kinda set on what DICE did in the original BF2. I don't think the Devs intend to have the events in different maps to interrelate. I feel like it's a new reality at each map.ma21212 wrote:PR is kinda set on what DICE did in the original BF2. Re: MEC?
I would love to see an Insurgent, or even taliban, facing off against the MEC, that would be awesome. MEC allows the DEVS to do whatever they want, let them have their fun.

Re: MEC?
what do you mean by unrealistic battle?...i just kinda find it hard to understand how "MEC" with thier BMPs, T72, SUs, MIGs etc etc lets NATO go into Al Basrah and take it THEN just let insurgents try to handle the situation with Bomb cars...theRVD wrote:definitely not. instead of having some realistic battles/factions lets remove them in favor of unrealistic factions. nothx
if you were in the tournament each map kinda relates to the nextvictor_phx wrote:I don't think the Devs intend to have the events in different maps to interrelate. I feel like it's a new reality at each map.
listen when you bring something like the Insurgents into a PR map its like you completely disregard MEC as a force. it just doesnt make sense.

Re: MEC?
MEC is not IRAN, the MEC are a coalition of Arabs. Hence the Arab facial features. We've been up and down and back and forth on this topic. This is a resuggestion in true form.
So this is locked for both being a suggestion and a resuggestion.
