I dont know anything really about the BF2 engine or the workarounds PR-team is working with.
Question; -Would it be possible to have a bot to act as uav on each side while playing online, then give the commander waypoints to plot out in command-view/ shoot from gunner view [1].
The point is a more accurate uav with the possibility for "autopilot" flightpaths, panable view and zoom, and even as in the case of the MQ-1/MQ-9 being armed with working hellfire´s.
This has probalby already been gone through, but i could not find any information on it when searching. THANKS !

Hm , probably not possible, if you want bots to fly UAVs you need them as actual vehicles, like helicopters and they'll fly them around shooting at other bots.

Ok ..
The idea i had was;
"BotUAVpilot"(bot) spawns up inside "UAV"(Airplane with no weapons on pilotseat, tv-'waypointgun'[weapon1]/hellfires[weapon2] on gunnerseat)
The player then getting inside the uav(preferably the commander from a tent or such instead of the actual vehicle) can then set a waypoint(preferably 3 of them for patrol-route) on the command screen or shooting it from the 'waypointgun' (mimicing pretty much how the point-and-go uav-missile in PR works today.) The bot will remain idle until given the first waypoint, then take-off and remain at a set altitude.
The problem im having is in the lack of knowledge of the BF2 engine and bots.
So the bots are always set on 'engage mode' ? Or can they be given 'waypoints' without engaging targets on the way ? will they attack if they have no means of attacking ?
Can they be given scripted orders without being inside a squad ?
And most importantly, can they be spawned on a "online" server with 64 players ?
The motive for having one of these uav's instead of the ones we have right now, would be a more giving commander role (not that it´s not fun as it is
), better perception of the environment, and possibly 2-per-round hellfires !
