define "unplugged" and what headset are we talking about?
is it usb or did you unplug a 3.5 mm jack?

make sure you plugged it in correctly - obvious but just do it! (make sure the 3.5jack is all the way in some cards recognize if they have a mic attached and unlock/lock its access by it)

It's a USB-headset that has been working earlier on all voice-communication ive used. I unplugged it, as I had to move the headset, I plugged in ANOTHER headset to try if it was working but it was broken. Then I replugged my USB headset but now it wasnt working on Project Reality, only on Skype. I can hear people on PR but they cannot hear me. It's properly inserted.

what is your OS?

if ur on win7 disable exclusive mode for the recording device
make sure its set as default recording device and not as default communications device

disable auto adjust mic in skype and other voip apps

if all fails reset audio settings in bf2
its common that the loopback test in bf2 audio options will not work even though ppl will hear you when playin

when ingame (on a map) press and hold tab then click on the "manage" tab and click the speaker icon next to your name disabling and reenabling your voip
