CTD on server join

Right.

So, this is the gist of it; I got PR again. Whoo. Some... Complications here are there later and I am all set to play.

I have mumble in the background, put on BEFORE running PR, then I kick into game. I can play a LAN and CO-OP game (Well, create a server and run around at least) just fine.

However, when I go online... I have a problem.

I join Tactical Gamer, for instance, as tis my usual grounds. Instead of a kick, it says server disconnected or such. Though this might just be a change. Regardless, I instead try some other random server - And I have tried more then one - and the moment I hit deploy and start loading it up...

... It crashes to desktop. Just closes. No errors or anything, just closes.

make sure you patched bf2 with 1.41 and then with 1.5

make sure dirvers and windows is up-to-date

if your at work a firewall might block the access

update punkbuster manually (https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f27-pr ... -here.html)

if you still get the problem run pr in windowed mode (append "+fullscreen 0" to your shortcut's target line) to get an error message, google it, post it here

I can't do the last bit right now, but all of the above is just fine/already done.

Problem solved. (Well, I haven't re-installed PR just yet, but I assume it's fixed)

I figured out, eventually after trying quite a bit of everything, that it was 1.50 patch that was causing it. I could join servers just fine on 1.41 and straight install. I redownloaded the patch, thinking it might have been corrupt, but tried it and it still CTD'd. Frustratedly, I googled the problem again, this time focusing it on just the 1.50 patch...

... And discovered because it auto put compatibility on the shortcut, which caused it to CTD on joining a server. Unticking that, it works.

Yay.
