Game crashing
First off the game is the best combat sim I have played. I am having problems with PR 9 crashing to the desktop or crashing between maps. I have turned my anti virus off and set allowed the games to go through my firewall. I am running windows 7 any tips would be appreciated. I am totally frustrated at this point.

Re: Game crashing
Once i set all my video settings to medium, the problem went away but I hear that if you just set textures and lighting to medium, it'll fix the problem

Still Crashes I wonder if I remove Nortons 360 if that will resolve this. It's really starting to piss me off.

Re: Game crashing
make sure you installed bf2 1.41 patch, then bf2 1.5 patch
pr and installers should be run as administrator

What's making you think this is to do with security software?SSG-Martin wrote:Still Crashes I wonder if I remove Nortons 360 if that will resolve this. It's really starting to piss me off.
Security packages can hog the system resources but it might be a PR/hardware bug rather than your computer being pushed too hard.
If you REALLY think it is to do with the security software (I have some suggestions):
Turn off Real time protection
Disable 'background scanning'
Change updates to weekly (if it is once a day or more)
Make a new user account (just for gaming/PR) and type 'msconfig' in run and change the boot/startup service to deny Norton.
Also, do you have any MS security apps running (Security Essentials for example)?
Otherwise, I think you might need to be more specific about your crashes (give us hardware details and basic overview of settings) or think of common actions that cause the CTD (Voip for example)....
Other ideas:
Update PB (probably won't do anything)
Fresh reinstall (hell)
