What to do with surrendered players :L

Post by Redamare »

With the New PR surrender unarmed movment thingy :P what can we do to insert a gameplay use for the movment/stance?......

when i see somebody with their hands up there isnt any REAL penalty for shoting them or Knifing them they die and respawn..
Would it be a good idea to keep them alive? they could just call for more help from their team mates :O ..... ( is it possible to ( disable ) the Viop function wile they are in surrender mode? and reanable it when they put their hands back down? .... or disable team chat? aha i dont know ..

Or if you do decide to kill them should they get a shorter Spawn time or somthing along those lines.? ... the new surrender mode is a Neat function and it would be interesting to hear other peoples ideas on how it should be utilise... :)

Give your thoughts please....

(read my suggestion on how to communicate with enemies )

Once when I surrendered to a paranoid Marksman who was literally the only guy from his team within 500m he just stood, up took his time, and shot me once in the head >.> the other time I surrended I was told to follow the the squad till they got killed and I escaped :P i really like the new feature it adds a new mix into the game lol.

the the team taking the captive should get a couple extra tickets for being merciful. I don't know how I could make that work though lol

And the person surrendering should get an immediate spawn back for surrendering.

That way both teams have an incentive to surrender

Roleplay. I once played San Andreas multiplayer and surrendered. then followed the 2 guys into their car and they stopped at the prsion and walked me down into the cells and I went in there and took my punishment. That is epic fun when you can get together with other players and roleplay like that, nothing better in a videogame. Though most players don't give a shit about roleplay and should be raped with wodden sticks.

Just let him run. He can call for reinforcement anyway. Tell him to run off, take his kit, shoot once and reload until the weapon is empty (if that does not compromise you to other enemies). Takes him out of combat for a while, maybe even longer than killing him would.

most of the time i shoot em as i dont have the time, but if i did leading them away from there kit and telling them to walk off in other direction might be fun.

If it were possible via python It would be neat if there were RoE on unarmed soldiers who are isolated a certain distance x from armed soldiers of his own side. I think that could possibly be very interesting for servers with one mumble channel :P

My squad had a lynx pilot surrender to us on Lashkar valley the other day, my SL told me not to snipe him in the head, then blew him up :(

I think the best choice in servers without a universal mumble channel is to shoot them. If you can communicate with them over mumble it can be fun to RP a little, take a prisoner and hold him somewhere, but I prefer to shoot them and get back to PR.

Just shoot them, I don't care about the ROE outside of PR. Bringing them back to your base/FOB could actually give the enemy team more intel if the person who surrendered relays info via teamchat/vent/teamspeak. I see no need, at the moment, to let them live. In the end, roleplaying is fun, but presently has no advantage in PR. Just be careful for bait'nswitch tactics with ppl who surrender. There most likely will be an enemy squad waiting to light u up. If the DEV's do decide to make ROE , I surely hope they look into ALL the possibilities to misuse them in order to gain an unfair advantage/intel. Call me harsh, but put one right in their head, and carry on with your mission objectives.

it'd be cool if you captured or knifed an enemy they shouldn't be able to respawn until you die, anyway to incorporate a POW system, i think itd be really usefull on insurgency as it would help blufor out as there would be less insurgents to battle, vice versa as an insurgent

I also don't get the use of surrendering as American. Militia (when playing against it) doesn't have the restrainers or anything. The only thing they can do, is to actually get the "hostage" to follow them...

they could just make it like the insurgency and if you capture them you get intel points of their FOB's or tickets etc.
