My suggestion is to increase the number of flares on helicopters (actually all flyable assets), make the flares number as in real life according to the certain types (F-16,Mig-29,blackhawk, Mi-8/17, AH-64, Mi-28 etc.) In particular, I just can not talk about the number of flares on Mi-28: on the Mi-28 established a system of shooting flares UV-26 (УB-26) wich has 69 flares per wing - 128 total.
On photo Ka-50 with the same sytem as Mi-28:

If the Devs would be interested in this I'll try to seach the real number of flares to all air assets in PR.

Yes please, it always makes me laugh when I remind myself that the A-10 has the same amount of flares as the littlebird :mrgreen:

My ressugestion!!
+ i wan't to drop flares as 2 flares(not 5 or 6) and faster rocket release launcher and launch 2 rockets at time(Now - 1 missle on heli,3 on jet)

whats the point of 2 flares?

point is you have more control on them, you can fly by with dropping them here and there when you think that zone is relatively safe and increase drop rates in hot areas


i kinda agree with this suggestion, we just need to keep in mind that the whole system depend on every chain of it
if we keep current flares with increased numbers of them, it might become simply impossible to shoot down anything with AA, if helicopter has 192 flares

Thats exactly the same with five flares... when you hit a target with an attack heli or transport troops you still drop em but 5 at a time. Only that the five flares will cover you 100% from AA on a 360 degree basis. Would be cool if you could control the amount of bursts of flares you wish to deploy :razz:

no its not, with two per click you can launch from 2 to whatever you want at one time, with 6- not less than six
this is very noticeable when you have only 30 flares

again- with 2 per launch you can approach hot zone with dropping them only by 2 with pretty long delay, to make your way safer in case of AA ambush, but when you're in hot zone nothing stops you to spam them out to be sure that nobody will lock onto you

same deal like with small arms- auto mode allows you to shoot with single, burst and auto, while other modes do not give you same flexibility and restrain you to single or burst only

I dont think that I expressed myself well enough. What intended to say was that when you fly at a certain speed the six flares will cover you from AA for a longer period and area. I agree with you that using two flares will cover you with the advantage of being able to use them over a longer time period. But in this case I would personally prefer using one flare every one second instead of two...

what stops you to tap button 3 times in a row?? it will be still same amount of flares in almost same time frame

This would be nice but there is still the problem of people locking onto the flares and firing which is almost a gaurenteed kill for them either by splash damage or the missle loses lock on the flares and relocks the aircraft 100m away with no warning at all.

nothing, but if you tap it three time you have six flares - what I was talking about
