Asad Khal - what's the objective?
Couple of days ago I was playing Asad Khal on Hamas side. We managed to capture all the control points but Israeli's were still able to spawn and they had no ticket bleed. All we could do was defending Mansion flag and hope that enemy runs out tickets (by deaths) faster than we do - which is not very likely outcome as Israeli's have much better weapons and APC's and stuff.
I can't remember who won the round, all I was thinking was "What the hell we are doing here, what's our objective now that all the flags are captured?"

Your objective is to hold the flag, and you didnt capture it because Hamas has it from the start...
You have medics also you know...so do they, do not give up, call medics, they should revive...
If you stay down and wait for medics, hamas has less avaliable men, chance to IDF to attack the mansion while yous ave on tickets, if you fight back violently, waste tickets, you can run out faster than they do.
Goal for Hamas on asad khal is and will be, punish IDF enough at each flag, then retreat for the next and let them take the one you were just defending...

You're right with the medic part Chiz, but to be honest the IDF should be punished for losing flags. If they capture mansion and lose it again, the IDF should bleed.
IMO the mains should be switched around, with the IDF attacking from the north, and having to go through the town to the south towards the final HAMAS main at the current IDF main, the small village there.

Yes, but the north side is on a higher terrain = height advantage

Defense. Simple as that really, Hamas start the round with all flags and the objective is purely to attempt to defend from the IDF attack. The IDF are much better equipped with APCs and advanced scoped weaponry which gives them a big advantage, if it was standard AAS with both sides pushing to cap neutral flags in the centre then Hamas would not stand much of a chance at all.

The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end... "

I don't think that is quite right tbhJigsaw wrote:Defense. Simple as that really, Hamas start the round with all flags and the objective is purely to attempt to defend from the IDF attack. the hamas objective seems much more along the lines of keep falling back taking as many enemy tickets with them as possible.
the APCs aren't really an advantage, they are as frail as humvees
the scopes are their advantage, which is why its best not to counter attack flags like mansion, losing tickets for your team rather than falling back.
the problem is that the flag arragement and nature of AAS doesn't make this strategy obvious for pubbing players.

All the fightin is around mansion as its easy to defend, I dont understand why IDF guys keep going there to get pwned again and again. Theres like almost no chance to win the match with IDF by outcapping hamas, so why bother to cap Mansion when u dont bleed and can fight everywhere U want?

Ah touche, but would it contribute that much to the IDF offense? I think not.[R-CON]Outlawz wrote:Yes, but the north side is on a higher terrain = height advantage![]()
Of course if HAMAS started off with North as the flag in play then it would be pretty even.

Simple, offensive mentality. People hate to idle so they rather be retards and act as retards. Patience is not to be found on the internet.Nebsif wrote:All the fightin is around mansion as its easy to defend, I dont understand why IDF guys keep going there to get pwned again and again. Re: Asad Khal - what's the objective?
The objective is to laugh hysterically as the IDF try and fail to leverage any slight advantage against the superior defensive fortification that is mansion. The trees and whatnot completely negate the scope advantage, the apcs are less armored than humvees and bigger targets, and to top it all off, once you get a sneaky hideout up, you are nearly guaranteed a victory as Hamas.
Even if the IDF capture mansion, fear not, I have never once witnessed them DEFEND it. Merely get some guys to hide out and cap it back, thusly restarting the cycle.

Players might be hardcoded, but that sure doesn't seem to stop anybody from trying.
The only winning move is not to play. Insurgency, that is.

Actually it seems more like a Quake Deathmatch, at least the matches I played there. Quite a lot of action and fun and pretty different from the usual project-reality-camping nowadays. And the objective is pretty easy for both sides - stay positive on the k/d.

Re: Asad Khal - what's the objective?
Asad Khal to me is the biggest change in 0.9.
Before, i really liked the map, the general flair with the farms in the desert, the little city with a lot of height differences which made combat quite intense at times.
Now it is more like a deathmatch between the IDF spawn and the mansion, with about 60% of the map - IMHO the better parts - rarely, if ever, used.
(I also dislike the Hamas as a "regular" army, i think they are better as an insurgent faction, like on Gaza Beach)
It is just a different feeling now, more deathmatch-y, like the previous poster mentioned - just kill more guys then you lose.

Re: Asad Khal - what's the objective?
-IDF is on nearly same grounds as HAMAS by infantry standards. the HAMAS guns are just as deadly if not more in the close combat that often occurs
-IDF has APCs and humvees to drain tickets with minimal gain
-IDF is naturally going to take more casualties on an offense over open ground with not much chance to flank
the map is now really team-deathmatch like. this is kinda fun but it leaves a lot of the map which is great unused.

Re: Asad Khal - what's the objective?
Very true. Whenever I played on Asad Khal while IDF, after 0.9, most of the battle was going on for the mansion, hamas had hideout somewhere among the trees and its almost impossible to to play like it was before. When I look on the map, there is like 3 squads right on the flag in the mansion and then a minute later I check the map and everyone on the flag seems to be wiped out. Maybe they should leave mansion to capture in the beginning of the round, whoever gets there first, to make the battle more diverse, from mansion to the middle flags.
