[Faction Proposal] Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces

Before I start, I need to say that I looked and looked for a similar topic to make sure I wasn't double posting. If I missed it, I apologize

now that thats out of the way...
I'd like to propose the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces. I'd need volunteers to help out, but seeing as the mod is currently lacking in OPFOR factions, I think that this would be a good faction to have fighting the US, Brazil, and/or a NATO coaltion (remember , bf2 as a whole is WW3). Here is what I propose as far as weapons and vehicles

That is my list for now of the various weapons and vehicles. If anybody is willing to help plz PM me. As I said i think that this would be an excellent addition to PR. We are using soviet weapons, so we wont have to model a million guns. We need somebody for pretty much every position so plz volunteer if you want to see this faction. Thank you for your time

I like this. It could fit perfectly with our Southwestern Theathere of War that is the Brazilians and Venezuelans and FARC factions.

But as of this moment all work on other projects, has been halted as all modding powers are being used to get already factions in-game and into the Main Build.

Maybe after v0.92 or something

really... that sux. I'm still gonna keep working on it even if they dont give a subforum so that i can get as far ahead as possible on it. And they said that they were only blocking BLUFOR factions, not OPFOR. Oh well. Well if anyone still wants to work on it like unofficially u can still feel free to PM me

well really there was no need for that one. I was new to the forum and i didnt quite understand how everything worked. This time i searched to see if it had already been suggested, it hadn't. I did my research on all the weapons. I made sure that I had the means and the time to do all of this work. I have been able to gain experience in both Mapping and Modeling for the ARF. Just because I did something wrong when i was new to these forums, I dont think that it's right that it should have to haunt me for the rest of the time I use them. There is a difference between constructive criticism and being an asshat.

i am not a asshat, but it just common nowadays on these forums that people start on something, move on etc.. the story is quite long but in the end nothing gets done or even started.

i dont know about your involvment in the ARF nor about any of your skillz but sure, if you are willing to do at least something by yourself, good.

How would you be contributing to the faction jimbob? To start a faction you need to be very determined and work very hard. To me it looks like all your doing is proposing what ever opfor's you can think of when your in the shower. Your best hope is to pick one, and start to develop it. People aren't going to want to join your mod team if the lead does nothing.

I remember having seen an early WIP LandCruiser...have you made progress on this model ?

this faction just resembles taliban too much, and as there are so many community factions on the go i would like different ones with different weapons etc if im gonna be bombarded with a huge download

okay let me answer everyone best i can.

@Hangman. I can contribute to mapping, modeling, and texturing. I would need a lot of help with scripting, and skinning. And obviously the more we can have doing everything the faster this could move along. But as was said before, I agree that ppl should be working on established factions, and that we should wait most of the current factions are done, especially the Germans, French, ARF, because I DO NOT WANT TO PULL PPL AWAY FROM WORKING ON THOSE FACTIONS I will obviously contribute heavily to all of the planning and organization of the faction. I want to work very closely with the Brazilian/FARC factions, and the Venezuela faction as far as maps, scenarios, etc.

@Hauteclocque (sry if mispelled XD) I have finished the landcruiser except for texturing, I have finished two maps except for the villages because i want to model more authentic buildings first, and i am getting ready to work on both an Mil-8 gunship and a hind. If you would like me to pm you my work feel free to pm me, i just dont want to post any of my stuff until its completely finished anymore because really it makes the whole thread kind of sloppy. As i said though, if you really want to know my progress ill be happy to PM you some pics, jst send me a PM.

@JacktheStripper(nice name XD) This will really be absolutely nothing like the taliban. Really a cross between the militia and IDF as far as strength and gameplay. There is so much flexiblity with this faction that really, there is so much that we can do with it as you will see in the following post. Just because the weapons are similair, well most OPFOR countries are going to be using Warsaw-Pact weapons so if we reject a faction just because of its weapons load out that would severely hamper the number of OPFOR factions we could have and we already have very few.

CUBA FACTION DESIGN PLAN

Allies: Venezuela, Russia, China
Enemies: US Army, USMC, Brazil, Revolutionaries(?)
Scenario: After years of organization, a small group of revolutionaries pull out a coup against Castro. It is successful in capturing Havana, but loyalist forces still control the rest of the islands. After the US and Brazil officially start backing the Revolutionaries, Cuba (with Russian and Chinese backing) invades the US from the keys of Florida making it as far as the West Palm Beach- Orlando line. The also invade New Orleans, Panama City Florida, Mobile, and Galveston. The US Army beats them back. Brazil enters Cuba from the Rebel controlled Havana in the north, and they hit the beaches on the south. The USMC invades from the Rebel Havana to the North and they hit the beaches to the east and west. After the USMC invasion, Russia China, and Venezuela declare war on the US and Brazil. Russia Invades NYC, DC, Boston, Brasilia; China invades LA, Portland, Seattle, Rio; Venezuela attacks Brazil through the Amazon. Brazil keeps fighting in Cuba and counter attacks Venezuela through the Amazon, and invades Caracas and Nord. The USMC withdraws to fight on the west coast of the US while the US Army fights from the east. And thus is the scenario.

I would advise to work on the existing factions first, before working on yet another one. This is the (strong) advice I give everyone wanting to create a new faction.

There are a lot of talented people on these forums. Learn to work together more, get the existing factions in-game (or give 'em up if all hope is gone) and once that's done, work on whatever else you want to work on.
