Flares(no not the air vehicle ones)

Post by rushn »

I suggest giving pilots flares instead of the red smoke nades

reason: as i see it red smoke is to signal to friendly units where you are well the problem is that you can not see the red smoke from far away

with flares i think search and rescue missions will be alot easier and more fun

any comments or suggestion are welcome

something like this maybe?

yea that sounds like a good idea...

but flares are mostly used at night (i think) cause u cant se em very well during the day.

Plus, it shouldnt be very hard to model/make cause it is just black n organge

BUT it is a resuggestion

Pilots get smoke, its rarely used but sometimes useful, it actually helps to show where someone is, rather than giving away their position as is does not render over a huge distance.

This would just tell everyone on the other team where you are.

You have a map.

I found this sentence quite funny and since this is a war game forum I will put it here. No offense to the french just a good laugh.

The bf2 engine isnt that great which is why a bright red smoke nad works. The flare ideas cool but I would think you couldn't see it.

I just wish the smoke grenades would deploy faster. In this game it takes like 10 seconds for a cloud to start forming..

Ah well.

I just wish you could get a bundle of sticks, spell out SOS and light it up with a zippo lighter.

That would blow some minds.

That proves its possible but from a distance it'd still be hard to see

maybe give pilots both the flare (if it ever happens) and the red smoke?

Now thats the kinda nightmap I'd love to have in PR. Its dark enough to create a nice mood, but not dark enough for it to require nightvision.
It even looks like its done for PR (with the compass at the bottom).

would be fun to try, the aerial flares are quite easy to see if you're looking for them, and I imagine a pilot wouldn't use the flare until his ride was coming close

something to think about if there is time, wouldn't destroy the universe

They have flares on FH2, or atleast used to on a night map, which worked really well.
