[0909] Too hard to shoot inf out of stationary Tow
I hope this one hasn´t been discussed yet. I searched for it and didn´t find anything.
It´s about the Tow. Shooting infantry out of the stationary Tow is alot harder then it should be.
When shooting at a Tow with a ar-kit I experienced that it´s quite impossible to kill the gunner as long as he faces in you rough direction.
It´s like the Tow model is too wide and protects the gunner more then it should.
I also experienced this with an russian Brd or what it is called (it´s the apc with one heavy machine gun and one with .30 cal I guess)
Anyways I was shooting at the Tow from close range, he misses me. And now with a lot of time (his reload time) to kill him I fire all I got in that stationary Tow until it´s reloaded and he kills me...
Anyone experienced this before?

yes, playing silent eagle i hit the TOW with a HE round from the T-90 (or whatever the russian tank is) and the guy on it survived and blasted us
stationary AT is too overpowered, i'd agree that it needs to be nerfed (or removed)

I have been shot off of the stationary AT so much that I have never been able to hit a single piece of armor with it so far. Infantry always get me with their guns first.

I dont wat it removed or anything. It´s just fine exept for the fact that the gunner seems to have an invisible protection shield.JacktheStripper wrote:yes, playing silent eagle i hit the TOW with a HE round from the T-90 (or whatever the russian tank is) and the guy on it survived and blasted us

I don´t doubt that if they shoot you from behind or if they outnumber you. But i seriously doubt that you have been killed often by small arms fire from the rough direction you were aiming at.Dougalachi wrote:I have been shot off of the stationary AT so much that I have never been able to hit a single piece of armor with it so far. And that is what I was talking about in the first place.

Hmm. Karma bit me in the ***. Yesterday I was sitting in the 50 on top of a T-90 on Silent Eagle and put at least 20 rounds into a US soldier (that was looking at me) in a TOW HMMWV from about 30 yards away and didnt kill him. He then missiled me. I agree that something is making the infantry in TOWs impervious to gunfire.

Ive been shot out plenty of times, even when directly facing the shooter. Had a tank come up on our fob on Silent Eagle, he took out a friendly Abrams nearby, I hopped in the tow, his next shot took down our fob itself and then he killed me with the third shot a split second before i could fire at him.

remember guys, that sometimes it's not just about the cover TOW or any other stationary asset has.
It all comes down to buggy bf2 hitboxes which sometimes even lets you to empty 300 machinegun bullets from APC to a single infantry troop standing still. All he might react is just twisting around 'cos the hit's ain't registering properly.

This might be true but it can still have a big effekt on gameplay and imo it should be changed somehow.McCree wrote:remember guys, that sometimes it's not just about the cover TOW or any other stationary asset has.

This isn't a bug, more a suggestion. Try not engaging the TOW gunner from head on, flank him to either side/behind and you will find it quite easy. Or move close and grenade.

The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end... "

Are you sure you're not hitting the TOW instead of the man using the TOW?
Although any explosive round should destroy the TOW and operator.

When using explosive rounds shoot next to the TOW, like the sandbags on the side as the area of effect will hit the gunner. Shooting the sandbag base also destroys the TOW launcher if it is damaged enough, and is much harder to miss. Don't be afraid to lay out some of your coax fire at the base of the structure either since you can hit the legs of the gunner, if not kill him at least wound enough for him to not be able to see you.
