Silent Eagle - Havoc Gunner VD / Fog problems

Post by McBumLuv »

The Havoc Gun view is highly impaired on three reasons:

1) Fog seems to roll in far before the actual View Distance ends, so it's not at all possible to recognize any targets against the terrain whilst they can still easily discern the ominous shadow against the sky.

2) The TV video feed causes a graying out which makes targetting impossible (I was only able to engage an Abrams from around 500-600 meters away by firing next to the dust plume, but I still couldn't see it)

3) VD is still limited to 1000 meters, so it still suffers the same problems as all the previous maps where they loose any distance advantages.

1 and 2 should at least be an easier fix and should make a huge difference, though I'm very doubting about 3 and it's performance optomisation.

Yea I notice this too.

Could only the Russian gun cam be changed? So the MEC version could remain the same.

however I think the fog on the map makes it hard to begin with. Can only rely on lasers to get the job done, but those are hard to come by unless someone is skilled with it. Like said, a challenge when the outline of the chopper can still be seen at regular distance.

Give the infantry the impression that you are a good pilot waiting for lasers and you will get them. For me Silent Eagle has become THE map where I can count on CAS. As infantry SL I have done plenty of lases there and my position has been lazed a couple of times by the enemy.

The fog is perfect as it is.

Hovering over the battlefield spotting for targets seems a bit easy. Is it still not effective to do low attitude attack runs using the fog to your advantage?

I agree, view distance and fog should stay. The grey makes it extremely difficult, though not impossible but needs a zoom in to even tell if there might be something there.

Hovering over battlefield makes you dead at most - by H-AT if I happen to be nearby.
