Trouble starting PR

Hi guys...I just installed PR again after reinstalling my OS. I'm running Vista 32 bit. After double clicking the Project Reality icon, it comes up with the PR splash screen. Then the BF2 splash screen appears, and about 10 seconds later my monitor turns blue and says OUT OF RANGE for 5 or so seconds (usually happens when starting vanilla BF2, but that works just fine). Then when my monitor comes back, nothing has loaded. I can't load the mod at all, can someone help me? Thanks.

EDIT: As it turns out, vanilla BF2 wont even start as well. There's gotta be something wrong with the entire program.

- run pr as admin
- bf2 needs to be patched with 1.41 and 1.5 (in that order)

if you ported your old profile don't - try it with a fresh one (delete "My Documents\Battlefield 2" - will be recreated on bf2 startup with default settings)

if the problem persists:
- go into the profile folder locate your video.con - search for the resolution entry (format: 800x600@60Hz)
- you have to change that into a resolution you are sure your monitor will support
