Hey,
I thought I was using mumble all along, but I guess the in game voice is not mumble?
What exactly is mumble and how do I turn it on? From what I am understanding it allows you to talk to everyone within a certain radius be they on another squad or the other team.
Can anyone make it clear for me what exactly it does and how it differs from in-game voice?

It should of came with the installation for .9. Its a icon on your desktop with a big "M" on it. If you don't have it, search the PR forums for it. It'll tell you the instructions for about putting up your IP and other settings.
TIP: If you are using Vista or Windows 7, make sure to run Mumble on administrator. That way, you can talk in game. If you don't Mumble will not be fully connected unless commanded by the administrator.

You also need a server in which everyone uses it.
Anybody know any good ones to name for this guy?

Re: How to use Mumble?
So is everyone on one server and the game talks to the mumble server to see who is connected to the server that's currently playing or do I need to change my mumble server when I change the server I play on?
I see there is an official server, everyone uses this right? There's not like a server for each server I connect to in-game?
EDIT:
So I connected to the official server, but I am confused, there's a bunch of channels, what am I supposed to do? lol. There needs to be a tutorial on this somewhere right?

okay now you choose you channel/server your going to play on, some servers have two teams eg. tactical gamer you should then choose a team and then join that team (if you can, if not mute your mumble and wait till the end of the round then switch for the next map). Before going in game make your keybinds (make sure they arn't part of in game controls) for eg. I,\,/, Alt
also make sure you have a volume control for 10% up and 10% down
i have not in cluded everything here ask around in game they will help you

Almost every server has a mumble channel, but most of the servers are not very active on it.Chopes wrote:So is everyone on one server and the game talks to the mumble server to see who is connected to the server that's currently playing or do I need to change my mumble server when I change the server I play on?

Reality Teamwork PR server is very active on mumble so whenever you play on RT server make sure you get in their RT mumble channel.

TG, RT, BigD and Pelitkula are the servers that use mumble the most.

Re: How to use Mumble?
Okay I am going through it when you have connected to the server there is alot of channels all the channels speak for themself actually these channels have the same name as game servers in PR, so what you do you find a mumble channel who is not named like a game or something. So you see all these channels go to the one with a reasonable amount of people on, such as RT or TG. Then you join but do not speak if you are in the main channel or Squad leader before you are on the actual game server and have spawned. So I connected to the official server, but I am confused, there's a bunch of channels, what am I supposed to do? lol. I tried to make a paint tutorial that failed but I think this will help alittle:

Also look to the left some servers like RT set up passwords there when the server is passworded. Hope this paint piccy helped alittle
I see some bad language in the picture but you hopefully get the idea.
As a sidenote Mumble will not take over voip as a squad communication tool it will make you able to talk to other players who are not in your squad referred to as "blue guys"

I found this sentence quite funny and since this is a war game forum I will put it here. No offense to the french just a good laugh.
"Going to war without France is like going deer hunting without an accordion. All you do is leave behind a lot of noisy baggage."

Re: How to use Mumble?
1. Start mumble
2. See which channel (server) has most people and join it (dont talk intill in game).
3. Start PR and join the server of the channel you are in
4. play.
