With all the carrier maps showing up. I thought it would look cool to replace the uav with an E-2 Hawkeye. I have figured out how to change the speed, altitude and radius
of the circle it flys in. I am just unable to find a way to make it stay alive longer before exploding. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Increasing the time to live should work in theory..Pumkindrvr1 wrote:With all the carrier maps showing up. I thought it would look cool to replace the uav with an E-2 Hawkeye. I have figured out how to change the speed, altitude and radius

Re: UAV replacement question
You do know the E-2 Hawkeye is a CATOBAR and not a STOVL aircraft? Meaning it needs an aircraft carrier with a catapult in order to be launched and the USS Essex ingame dose not have a catapult and is a STOVL aircraft carrier / assault ship.

Re: UAV replacement question
Yes I know. I use in my personal, not for sharing mod the one from BF1942-Desert Combat. Also have seen Youtube vidio of a Nimitz carrier with working catapult. I believe it is in the Combined Arms mod. I think Seethed Waters map may be big enough for a task force of ships with both types of carriers and the E-2 flying around them. Hey a guy can dream.

And please no comments on the crappy textures. I am still learning. I think I am getting better though.

Re: UAV replacement question
Point taken , but wouldnt an Assault Ship usually have a carrier in the area to give ti air support? I feel that it would make sense? Unless my logic is flawed? Cause all things considered woudlnt there be multiple Assault Ships attacking one target anyway? Someone tell me if my logic is faulted on teh carrier air group in the area to provide support?[R-DEV]Rhino wrote:You do know the E-2 Hawkeye is a CATOBAR and not a STOVL aircraft? Sounds fantastic man! A good UAV replacement!
But maybe you should start with say...Global Hawk?
Either way- looks good so far. I can't wait to shoot THIS down

Re: UAV replacement question
It really depends on the scale of the assault. The Essex is designed to take VTOL aircraft (Harrier AV-8B, F-35bs in the future) to provide with some air cover so they dont need a full on super carrier supporting them unless the scale of the assault is very large.DeltaFart wrote:Point taken , but wouldnt an Assault Ship usually have a carrier in the area to give ti air support? The Royal Navy uses Helicopters for its AEW/ASaC which I dunno if the US Navy uses them on the Essex etc but would have thought so, can't be asked to look
