I don't know who developers are for PR and i have seen 2-3 posts on PR forums with airlifting so im thinking if fans want it... it's probably up to the dev to put it in.

Developers are the guys with a blue name and the [R-DEV] tag.

You already have airlifting according to those posts. And it is not shown in blue on the suggestion list, plus it says "Vehicle - Airlifting" not supply crate airlifting.

Can this be locked because it is completely stealing ideas, Georgian conflict is unique I do not think it's fare for someone to say they want it in Pr, I asked a dev(Georgian conflict dev), he doesn't want people copying there ideas. So please lock this thread, it is stealing ideas the fact someone would even post this and it is also a misleading title as well as being a complete copy from on other idea, if you made a mod how would you like it if someone copied your idea, probably not. Think about it.

It is still the same thing, you still copied somthing just because it is diffrent coding, but gives you the same effect would be a copy.

We are not "stealing" any "ideas" and as I keep saying, if you think that if we took the "idea" of airlifting and implemented it into PR, then I would love to hear what you have to say about the GC mod having deployable and many other things from PR and other mods...

We don't have a lot of models or maps , we don't complain about it. Why should PR complain that they don't have airlifting?

We are not complaining we have not got airlifting... Just because someone from our community makes a suggestion that we should implement this dose not mean we will implementing it and that person dose not count for the PR team... Also you guys are complaining, otherwise why are you here?

As l|Bubba|l has already proven, air lifting suggestions go back as far as 2006, probably before that if you search hard enough.... And the title is only "Bring back air lifting" because hes referring to it as from BF Vietnam as that had air lifting and supply crate airlifting and vehicle air lifting is really the same thing...


Now if your just going to keep on trolling these forums your only going to make yourself and GC look worse than you already do after the posts you have made.

Yeh we don't beleive me, that's one thing thats been befuddling the devs beleive me
Anyway, I can understand why you don't want to integrate you're mod into PR, but I think it could go further that way, and if your an aspiring college student or high schooler trying to gget into a good game making degree, i'd say PR vs any smaller mod would do better for any resume

And please stop assuming that because your mod happened to have put in airlifting capacity that somehow it becomes your intellectual property... ARMA1 had it many years before GC and thus it is not a unique idea, and if the devs want to put it in (using their own code, not yours) they are both entitled to and more than ethically allowed to, in this poster's opinion.

Seriouly i dont see the point in airlifting in PR we already got enough trouble with INF beeing Airlifted
just look at muttrah.
Imagine if an incapable huey pilot wouldnt only destroy an Inf sq and his helo but maybe even the Apc, because he is airliftng it.

Well I personally don't see the need (although I do believe that picking up disabled vehicles to bring them back to main would be a decent addition, sometimes getting a supply truck out there would be impractical) for the airlifting on the whole, but I believe this is a possible workaround to the 8 player limit in vehicles (specifically choppers).

I will discuss a proof of concept with ancientman hopefully sometime this week and I guess if he thinks it is a plausible idea it can be escalated to someone who knows what they're doing with BF2 (I really want to help but I lack knowledge in any useful areas besides standard code)

Yeh I doubt airlift will be added, I dont see it working in any of the less than hard core servers(not the hardcore servers, the heavy duty adminned servers with RL like rules)

I saw in the video that the user had the option when to pick up the vehicles (it seemed), what are your thoughts on spawning two objects simultaneously with the python connection established at spawn time... feasible?

Should be possible, but I can imagine in some freak instances it could pick up the wrong vehicle (really unlikely unless you do something spectacular like ram it with a vehicle of that template right as it spawns). Interesting idea though.

However, they'd need to be spawned using python - so while it's technically possible, it's possibly not very practical (it might be, but you'd need to do something pretty fancy)
