I would like to install PR without BF2 on one of my PC's. I have been perusing over the files/code/design to try to get a feel for the mod and see if I can contribute now or in the future. Mainly looking just for curiosity. When I activate the installer it does some kind of check and says it needs to be installed in the BF2 root folder. I have created a EA file, Battlefield 2 file and the mods file, but no luck.
Is is possible to trick the system into installing it?
[?] Installing PR without BF2 possible?

What exactly is it you want to look at?
Nothing can run, you can't even see animations working or the objects working without BF2.
Sounds a bit weird thats all.

such a thing would probably be illegal as you would be breaking the terms of usage for BF2.bls5782 wrote:I would like to install PR without BF2 on one of my PC's. just wanted to look at the code to see how it fits together. the file system is pretty straight forward, so it looked easier to get my head around it and just absorb how the coding is done.
If I cant get animations to work or anything, perhaps I will just install BF2. I just wanted to keep the installed file size to a min.
I'll just install BF2. sounds like I'll need it.
Thanks Trooper

You are not going to be able to install PR without BF2 installed, and the install path pointing to the install location.

Okay, thanks.
I could have loaded BF2 3 times in the time it took me to try to work around it
I just didn't want to install unnecessary files. Trooper set me straight ---> Off to DL BF2.
