One Transport LB to fallujah west

Post by stealth420 »

Anyone else think this helicopter can be put to use on this map?

It is not being used on any other map , since it got removed from muttrah.

I know its a small map, but the littlebird would be a great asset for it.

Reasons

1. Most of the time (Unless the insurgent team is really noobish) the roads around cache location are mined to shit, so its impassable to any vehicles. So when you get out on foot Reason #2 happens.

2. On many occasions Insurgents have ambush points set up on all approaches to the cache, IEDs , Snipers, ETC. So your basically fucked if your not in some type of armor or jeep.

Solution

Add one or two transport Littlebirds to the map. So you can By pass the mines and ambushes and drop right onto the roof of the target building, It will make roof top insertions available to any infantry squad, as well as Sniper drops to valuable rooftops and intersection overwatches around the map.

Post feedback. If its good feedback they will add a chopper pad to the U.S. Main for next patch :)

Probaly not going to happen. Reasons:
1 lbs are army not usmc.
2 map is too small
3 lbs are used for special operations.

Also the lb is still on qwai.

Fallujah already has a tank...3 APCs.... huge DoD... they don't need it.

Fallujah is way too urban for a helicopter anyways.

In the battle against fallujah, were any littlebirds used?

I watched footage from the battle of fallujah and they used every helicopter in there arsenal from what i saw, Mostly Kiowa helicopters scouting above rooftops and some littlebirds doing roof top insertions for snipers. Ill try to find the video and post it here.

placeholder for the kiowa afaik

you'll never see LB on fallujah west, because its too small afaik, and also only Delta force use the LBs like that now iirc

That exact thought had occurred to me sometime last week or so. I didn't mention it since I feel like that's basically suggesting someone else do some work for the mod. Perhaps once I finish up stuff for the PSC I'll take a whack at it.

The LB isn't used by standard Army units, but there are massive numbers of Kiowas deployed, which function as scout and attack helicopters. More than Apaches, IIRC.

Last time I checked, Fallujah had technicals. Which pretty much neutralises a chopper on a map of that size, especially when they spawn in a corner.

I mean, how well did the transport LBs on the old Karbala or Korengal work?

Well, they worked on Karbala since you could fly low in the streets and the Apache redirected most of the attention, though there was still the issue of Ins having 6 SA7s at the time.
