I hate armor in PR because of the aiming system, you cant aim in 1 spot while moving on bad terrain, but IRL you can because tanks have gyroscopic turrets that is why, that would be very nice to see in PR of course if it is possible with BF2 engine though.

Combined arms has a similar mechanism with this, where tanks will "lock on" within 1-2 degrees of aiming at it.
However, a gyroscopic aiming system for tanks would be epic to see, however may be hard to code, or impossible.

Re: Gyroscopic turrets for tanks!
probably the only way I can think of doing this would be to use the CA hellfire method on teh tanks, allowing you to do a kind of 'tank lase' on anything, problem is that you'd have to hold down click to do it to allow the lase a second or two to get ahead of the tank round, since the laze needs a less than lightspeed speed to avoid bouncing off targets.
problem is that other tanks would be able to lock on to the lase...so its kinda ****.

Don't know anything about moding but it would seem possible to lock the turret to an axis that is level with the horizon but being able to move the turret around in every other directions while doing that is probably a whole other story?
Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading

Re: Gyroscopic turrets for tanks!
Great idea, even if other friendly tanks will be able to see the laze its still good imo.
BTW, if were talking about tanks, any plans/ideas on how to "balance" them, it seems like they all have about the same armor, the only thing that changes is that some have ATGMs (which kicks ***!) and some not, and the size of the tanks ofc (the smaller the better), T90 (luv luv luv) kicks the Leo in so many ways (Atleast in PR), same about the Chinese tank vs the Challenger.
Is it possible to shoot ATGMs while moving IRL? Maybe if that lock on system will be added for AP rounds it will bring some balance.. wut u think?

Doesn't the warrior have a stabilized turret i was playing on Lashkar valley we went around bends but my turret kept aiming at the same place. I was WOOW what?
There is only one unforgivable lie That is the lie that says, This is the end, you are the conqueror, you have achieved it and now all that remains is to build walls higher and shelter behind them. Now, the lie says, the world is safe.? The Great Khan.
