But I was for once not choppy on a map like Beirut. I used to be laggy and choppy on 60 % view scale, just tried it on a full server, 85% and no lag.

Thanks for the heads up on this great app!
Hey would you mind telling us what settings you used in the program? I just downloaded and Im trying to configure it but Im not really sure what settings I should use.

Interesting how much RAM this thing frees up from BF2. I thought those RAM-freeing programs could only get you RAM that was not freed properly by programs that don't run anymore but it seems I'm wrong there.

Not sure how this thing will behave under Win7. It's not officially supported and my Problem is more related to BF2 BSODing instead of taking more RAM than my system has available. But maybe there is some trouble with accessing too much RAM, although the 1.5 patch was supposed to optimize BF2 for sstems with more than 2 GB RAM.

Well the major changes I did as config was in CPU control. foreground apps will get best response time, in options and tweaks>unload unused dlls, optimise when cpu usage is lower than : 30%.

Other than that i just ran the optimisation and installed like all.

My settings we're mainly aimed at giving priority to bf2 instead of all the STD's my computer has.. lol. But ive ran pr on a fresh windows and it was still choppy like that on some maps.

I noticed a fps improvement change in game for sure since installing this. But my comp is very old.

There's also a tick mark for "Auto optimize memory every (minutes)":

Try playing with that to clear out. If you want, set it a bit high or lower depending on what seems to work. I have mine on 5 minutes, but maybe if you want, set it to higher times to let files build up then clear out after you have probably moved areas OR changed maps.

I dont know if that makes sense how i said it though :)

If this is to solve a supposed memory leak, I don't really see a point, mostly because after I load a map and every map loaded after that means my computer's total used (or is that reserved?) memory usage is about 1.7 gigs, and pretty consistent.

BF2 uses about 1.2 gigs of that, and that's running PR. I did just run into the dreaded out of memory bug though, so that's a problem.

On my old comp switching to the desktop and back into the game did basically the same as this program does. And it improved mt fps but like mentioned before when flying over the map it can get lagy because it unloads textures, i think ...

But since i got a new system everything works fine, at least as far as i have tested.

If it gives you some lag here and there, because the textures are unloaded, it's best to do it on map ends or so, I don't know. I haven't seen a real increase of performance I think, but just noticed the amount of RAM used and how it *could*maybe*possibly*perhaps* solve some issues for those with memory problems.

that's funny, i did the same before i go a better gpu, and it worked for me. from super laggy to super smooth with alt+tab - and no installation required!

I've had no memory problems since I installed enough (and then some) RAM to my machine.

You might be right on this. When there are large explosions around me, my screen sometimes starts fluttering. ALT-TAB to desktop and back clears it up nicely. Does this sound the same?

EDIT: shootmeplz, I don't think I was lagging (though it's possible I was)--things still appeared to be going at a good fps. I just couldn't see the frames clearly. It was a little like an old tv with a flickering screen.

I'll give the program a test later.

I have 2gb ram, and i desided to try this program, i download install, start PR join a map it was Asad Khal - had a nice round, there might of been a slight increase in FPS, then next map is Kashan desert i play for 20 min then the attack helos spawn, i happen to be in the main base that time and my fps drops to 20-25 for 30secs, then to normal again, we take a tank and wander in the desert for 15-20min then get killed so i respawned at the main base and the fps was like 1frame per 30-40 secs, 1-2(only saw 2-3 frames) min later i got kicked PB-hartbeats stopped.

-> Only use program at end of rounds to prevent mid-game-freezes.

Indeed. Can have too much RAM on a computer.

I just suffered some CTD on Al Basrah last night due to the RPG cages on the British trucks (first time using them in .9) so maybe this will help me (at 2GB)

To the OP: does that screenshot imply that this program also fixes the gluttonous FireFox issue? I've got two FF windows open, 2-3 tabs each and it's reporting over 1.2GB RAM in use!!
