VOIP problem/Fixed!

Post by youvejustbeenerased »

For some reason I can not change the VOIP settings they are both set to zero. When I change it and hit apply then I click back and then go back to audio its goes back to zero. I do not have a mic and also headphones were plugged in at this time but I can't change it for some reason. So I don't know what to do anyone know what is going on?

Try changing the values on the bf2 profile file... might work

C:\Documents and Settings\LEETNAME\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles

Also wrong part of forum :P

Yeah what values do I change it to? I tried 100 still nothing. I tried going into battlecomorose...whatever and changing it to some values that someone said would fix it on another site and still nothing. I emailed EA no response and it's been twenty four hours. So I really have no clue I updated my drivers. I mean it won't even let me enable it! Is it like a permission I have to add for Vista?

Do I have to have mumble for VOIP to work is that what's happening? The thing is I opened up BF2 vanilla and the same exact thing happens.

Here's what my audio file looks like:

AudioSettings.setVoipEnabled 1
AudioSettings.setVoipPlaybackVolume 1
AudioSettings.setVoipCaptureVolume 1
AudioSettings.setVoipCaptureThreshold 0.0147652
AudioSettings.setVoipBoostEnabled 1
AudioSettings.setVoipUsePushToTalk 1
AudioSettings.setProvider "hardware"
AudioSettings.setSoundQuality "Medium"
AudioSettings.setEffectsVolume 0.221521
AudioSettings.setMusicVolume 0.0345193
AudioSettings.setHelpVoiceVolume 1
AudioSettings.setEnglishOnlyVoices 1
AudioSettings.setEnableEAX 1

Hope it helps

Im curious go to your battlefield 2 file scroll down and look at the VOIP file. Mine says:

55125 no_password

What does yours say? Do i need a password for VOIP?

Another thing I plugged in a mic and tried to do the VOIP set up from the battlefield 2 file and when I spoke the meter didn't move at all but testing it with sound recorder worked fine. Very weird.

YES GO IT TO WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!

FOR VOIP TO WORK YOU MUST HAVE A MIC PLUGGED IN. I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION IT WAS LIKE NORMAL GAMES WHERE I COULD HEAR IT WITHOUT A MIC. BUT APPARENTLY THIS GAME IS STUPID AND THE ONLY GAME THAT DOES NOT ALLOW LISTENING WITHOUT SPEAKING.

Does it automatically route the voices through the headset or do I do that manually? Cause I do not want the effects coming through the headset hahaha.

Strange. You don't need a mike plugged in to hear others in the game. Are you sure you had the headset jack in the correct audio out port?
Your headset will output all sound from game. Don't think you can edit only voice through the headset. Turn down 'effects' to 25% to 35% so you can still hear teammates when in tank or trucks.
