I found this sentence quite funny and since this is a war game forum I will put it here. No offense to the french just a good laugh.

In ARMA2 there are a couple ways medics can work as far as I know, when a mission is created the mission maker can place modules to choose how advanced the medical simulation is. At its simplist you get shot, and go find a medic to get patched up. With the more advanced modules on when you are hit you are down, a medic will need to come over and tend to wounds (while you writhe in pain on the floor). You dont need to be a medic to help out though. You can go over and do this if you are any other class but it won't heal the guy, just stops him rolling around in pain. Or ofcourse you could just drag him out of the line of fire to safety :)

In terms of performance. ARMA2 runs pretty well and can actually run better than ARMA1 (might be different after the patches now). I by no means have a super computer but can run ARMA2 on pretty high settings (all on very high where possible) and with a view distance of about 7000 meters.

Also nice to see all the enthusiasm :)

EDIT: Oh and deployable assets are already in ARMA by default, it has a MP mode called "Warfare" which is a mix of RTS and FPS (well sort of). Basically you have a commander who can set up a base which constructs in game assets for the players. After you control say, a few villages a supply line is set up and trucks move between bases giving the commander more resources to build.

About time we get an engine that supports that stuff!

So just buying the original ArmA 2 + downloading the PR mini mod solves it?

NOOOOOOOOO, admins killed RT and now you're leaving PR for this? Why?

However, for me it's great somehow. I wanted to buy ArmA II when I stopped playing PR on public servers after RT shutdown, bc there is no real teamwork, mumble forcing server in Europe, only n00b influenced pubs and now I can have PR in AA if I want  . Especialy bc AA is forcing TW even without PR, bc it's warfare simulator, not n00b game like vanilla BF2

EDIT: Space killed RT, not us. Don't bother spouting this rubbish here again. - Gaz

I hope they find a way to make the gameplay more flexible and easy to play. Piloting a helicopter in ArmA II it's a pain in the donkey, its too difficult, but remember: difficult and realism aren't necessary the same thing, take Veteran difficulty in Call of Duty series as an example, it is difficult, not realistic.

Also, the User Inteface Ducks. Its ugly, obsolete and has many pointless space showing nothing at all, including unrealistic thing like the number of remaining bullets in the current magazine.

im so jealous of f everybody who can play ARMA 2. As seen with arma 1 the modding possibilities are limited only by the imagination.

Now now the helicopter thing sis quite easy once you get a grip of it, somethings are alittle over the top but in most part its easier to land and so on in ARMA2

Yeah I have to say I don't think flying is too tricky in ARMA2, in 1st person it is quite a bit harder though (you almost need someone saying how close to the ground you are when landing and helo).

well most of the stuff you asked about is already in ARMA2 by default, the only real exception is winter maps although there are a number made by the community that are very good. Obvioulsy nighmaps aren't required as there is a full day night cycle (start time can be set by mission maker).

In terms of physics, ARMA has a very different style to say something that uses physxor ragdoll effects. Thats not to say its a bad representation of physics, just different.
