VOIP isn't working?

Post by xcanadiansoldier »

When I'm on PR, people are telling me if I could hear them on their mic but I can't. I checked options > audio and the VOIP box wasn't checked, after i checked the box, i clicked back and back to audio and it seems that VOIP won't let accept the box tick. I've googled it and many people have this problem, I haven't seen anything that could fix it.

I've tried updating Punkbuster, reinstalled BF2/PR so much times it's not funny, reformatted Windows 7, used Battlefield Cleaner 2.0, running as adminstrator and running in windows xp sp2.

It's pretty important to have VOIP because people keep kicking me, i can't hear orders or anything.

Make sure your playback and recording device settings match with the actual hardware you're using. Thus on your playback settings (Control Panel -> Sound -> Playback) you have the correct output device and jack selected, you have configured the speaker layout and set all the possible custom properties to some reasonable values. The same applies to recording settings on the adjacent tab. Some of the settings can be adjusted from the sound card's own intrerface, some from Windows' Sound control panel and some from both, so I can't give more give precise answer without knowing your hardware specs.

You can also try to run BF2VoiceSetup.exe, found in your BF2 install folder, to test and adjust your VOIP volume and capture threshold.

Not able to use VoIP?
Did you try pressing tab, right click to activate mouse and click manage, then mute and unmute yourself? That seems to work most of the time.

Or try this:
VOIP FIX
