use of bipod

Post by boilerrat »

If I hit 4 to use the bipod and actually have it on a surface, does it work better?

Nice paint skillz.

It does not make a difference whether you have a surface to "mount" it on or not, though if I were you, if I'm not using it prone, I'd find a surface to hide most of my target area behind when firing.

As we decided we were fine with it being a hacked/BS looking its doesnt matter if its on a object or not (we could only pray). Now the advantage is when behind a object you get the cover that comes with it. Nothing like picking off a guy standing.

It was a hard choice, many post fight broke out over it, but we were able to talk/hug it out.

+ Bipod much more accurate.
- Bipod takes a longer deploying time before you can shoot accurate compared to the non mounted weapon.

Also if you move while using bipod deviation skyrockets, as for undeployed its similar to assault rifles.

Using a bipod gives you in general much more accuracy when shooting then when not using it. The downside is (as said) that deviation while/after moving using the bipod is higher than using it undeployed, and the settling time of your weapon is higher than without the bipod deployed.

I actually made that with GIMP

Just because I use photoshop or GIMP doesn't mean everything that comes out will be pro.

Nothing is impossible for paint. Except, of course, coming from a stable operating system.
Guys, when a new player comes, just answer his question and go on your merry way, instead of going berserk! It's THAT simple! :D

You are just as stable resting your bipod on thin air as on a crate.

In practice though if your bipod isn't on something then you need to take cover better.
