AFAIK = as far as I know

IED = improvised explosive device

Civi = civilian / collaborator

APC = armored personel carrier

Techy / tech / technical = Insurgent / taliban / hamas pickup truck with a heavy machinegun on it

bombcar = bombcar :P

DIY bombcar = loser on blufor losing his engineer kit to insurgents who then make a bombcar factory at main (Super fun)

LOL = HAHA :)
AFK = Away from Keyboard
BRB = Be right back
;) ahha..

Grid coordinants : E4 Keypad 6 = Map reference E 4 ( like in battleship ) keypad 6 Means: look at your Numpad on your keyboard its laid out in a 9 number grid like tic tac toe. so are each Main block in the "battleship" grid. :)

DAT - Deployable Anti-Tank (use it).
contact - the person shooting at you
corner - where a building ends, and a wall magically appears at a 45-90 degree angle to it... yes... a corner.
smurfantry - the guys with the blue names because they aren't in your squad
SL # - i.e. "SL 7" translated to "Squad Leader 7, I have important information pertinent to your squad's imminent future and I wish to pass this intel to you before it is too late, and it is imperative you respond so I know you are paying attention unlike the other 5 times, which is why your squad had 30 deaths"
CAS - see Close Air Support
Close Air Support - anything that flies and has guns, normally accompanied with "WE NEED ... "
Grid Location, Coords - Coords = grid location, grid location = A Letter Followed by a Number, Followed by KP followed by A separate Number, optional: Sub Number. I.E. B5 KP7sub1, look at your map, find the B column, trace it down to match with the 5 row, then identify the box inside that box inside the map's box. Key pad is CORRECTLY in this format:

9 - 8 - 7
6 - 5 - 4
3 - 2 - 1

then for sub 1, imagine another grid inside the Keypad, then guess about where it would be inside that grid.

dtacs wrote:A1KP2 refers to the following:

A1 grid, there are 32 grid squares going from A1-2-3-4-etc to H1-2-3-4-etc, all the way up to A8 and H8.

KP2 refers to the keypad, as grid squares are further divided up into 9 little boxes.I use a simpler term, A47 for example, which would mean the grid of A4, and the keypad of 7.

The keypads don't work like your mobile phone however, they work like this:

7 8 9
4 5 6
1 2 3
Usually I don't use the "KP" part of this... I say A1-2... Just a variation of it.
