Kits from crate/Breaching
I think we should by now be allowed to use our guns if we lack a shotgun to open a wooden door if not a lock. Even though you could probably take off a lock with a bullet.
But mainly I think the regular rifleman/specialist kit should be added to the crates for requesting. Also because sometimes you just want one of the 2 and you can't get one if your say a crewman or pilot, just bare with me here. Plus my ingenious idea.
Anyways tha'ts just my 10 cents.

I disagree the door could be mahogany which is very tough and the bullets go in but not through also what about the locks shooting them dosent just make them go away well dpends where u shoot them i guess
for the kit ones i dont think its really a problem if u just plan ahead

Resuggestion I think, however it is a good idea as the kit request rose can be lengthened to have a variety of kits AFAIK.
@Psyrus, that isn't really you posting is it?

It is me, I just decided to give a response in a similarly intelligible fashion as the opening post, hopefully it made it easily comprehensible to the OP.

would be interesting if all wooden doors could be opened with a melee attack, would it be possible in BF2 to have a right click animation? (same projectile ofc, just different animation) so that you could kick in the door?
shotguns would ofc still be required for the padlocks.

The Box O' Truth #5 - The Locks O' Truth - Page 1
Takes one shot to shoot off a lock with a shotgun. It would probably take 5-10 shots to take out a lock with a rifle, by taking it off piece by piece.
Can we implement that? Also, can we not have it take a salvo of APFSDS 25mm to take out some village's lock on a door? I never knew that doors were that strong...

Iunno, I think a padlock could be smashed off with enough force.

A way it could work: You know how you can change your firing mode on some weapons? Perhaps you could change from regular melee to kicky kicky!

Well considering that the locks on the houses are house locks and not padlocks, a 5.56 would go STRAIGHT through the plug of a household lock, rendering it useless. The handle could then be turned effortlessly.
Ever see No Country for Old Men where he blows out the lock with the compressed air? Similar deal.

Ever watch Mythbusters? They blow up a huge padlock with a 12 gauge single-barrel hunting shotgun. They do the same with a M1 Garand, however the .357 magnum couldn't damage the lock enough for the lock to break.
So, how about we make rifles able to shoot through the locks? Then there's no need for the breaching shotgun.

Or the hinges which I'm sure would be easier to break?

I like the right click idea.[R-CON]Rudd wrote:would be interesting if all wooden doors could be opened with a melee attack, would it be possible in BF2 to have a right click animation? (same projectile ofc, just different animation) so that you could kick in the door?

Hings would be another interesting way. I doubt we could get some Rainbow stuff going with breaching in BF2 but maybe ARmA 2 <_<
And I want the rifleman and specialist on the crate because I have an ingenius idea I said o.o
Plus. People run into problems when they have say a LAT or something but then they need a rifleman and can't grab one. Etc etc.
