About Autodeploy

Post by (HUN)Rud3bwoy »

Hi there!

I often use the auto deploy function(which is great), but there are times when noone would leave a server for 10-20 mins. The problem is that while you wait for a spot you cant do anything else(by the time you would join you already ate the sandwich you had made before autodeploying).

It would be a nice touch to the system if you could still browse servers while you are waiting in auto deploy mode(make a separate window for that for example, or just a little bar on the side of the screen), so you could see if there was a map change on an other server(what usually means a few open spots), or are there any open slots on maps you'd like.

I dont know if it is doable at all, so sorry if its not(I also dont know how to do it, so Im just tossing this out here...)

Does this make sence? Is this idea useable at all, or just unnecessary?
Opinions?

What would be even MORE nice is if you could tab out while you're auto-deploying to do other stuff.

No to both. You cannot do anything else once auto-deploy has started, since the way it works is constantly refreshing and clicking on servers in the server browser. If you want to alt-tab, you need to run PR in windowed mode instead of fullscreen.

I want to include maybe a small sounding suggestion to this auto deploy function.

Would it be possible to have the server "advertisement" (the space with the text) displayed while queuing? It would increase the players knowledge about the prevailing rules on the server and give some other information aswell. Like the window you see now when you look at the server details from the browser list

Now it just has the number of slots there.

I dont think that is possible because it will have to load the graphic first from the server that is connecting too

Manually clicking between two severs to constantly refresh yields better results then auto deploy, 99% of the time I'll pick up an opening and 99% of the time I'll get said spot.

One solution would be tha the only way to join a server would be "auto deploy", but actually integrated into the deploy button.

So upon clicking Deploy, you wold be in a queue for entering to the server, if there is free slots, you join immediately like now, if now there would be a queue of people wanting to join the server.
