[help] 3dmax Import

I need help on how to import BF models into 3dmax when ever i try i keep getting a mesh error and none of the tutorials really explain how to do it im talking about the BF modding forums they say something in short lines and it really isnt understandable
i want to know so i can start doing some animations on vehicles and people i know theres a bipod in 3dmax but it isnt fun working only on it :) i want soldier models.

if anyone helps thank you.

im using 3dmax 9 BTW if i can get it working for it because i cant find older 3dmaxes anywhere

3dsMax 9 is the correct version.

Also, I have no issues with vista.... and install windows 7 :P

Remember, Max9 isn't Max2009, although you can import in 2k9, but no export. At least I couldn't get it to work properly.

btw, nice sig. But yeah, install Win7. :P
