[Help] Looking for mod team: New OpFor faction - Iran

Nice to see this one up in the air (or at least on the way up).

As I've said to Koroush in PM's, the best place for reference pictures and general info seems to be the Iranian military forum:

I'm not sure if the "Chocolate chip" pattern would be the right way to go, since most regular infantry divisions use the US woodland camo. A dusty US woodland texture would look good.

Not that I wouldn't LOVE ot see a new faction(being Iranian too- cool) but i mean...perhaps just add some new vehicles to the MEC and add some Fergi phrases and voices to the MEC? Wouldn't that be a lot easier and better for PR overall versus making a whole new faction that will have a couple maps?

If you looked at the design plan... you would realize that MEC and Iran are nothing alike.

I think you missed the point he was making, that adding Iran to teh MEC would be less work intensive than adding Iran as an independant team.

First of all, it wouldn't make sense.. Sunni (MEC) and Shiite (Iran) muslims will NEVER be allies.

It is better to have more Opfor factions, not just mix them all up into one.


The MEC\taliban\insurgents are the only dedicated OpFor factions. We should have more than that. The mec uses G3s and russian vehicles, where Iran uses American\Domestic\Russian vehicles and domestic weapons.


And we are fine doing the work, we just need some people who can voice act and some support from the DEVs instead of criticism would be nice.

Iran actually used and uses the G3 a lot from what I've seen on militaryphotos. If MEC were to mount bayonets on their G3s they'd resemble Iran a lot IMO.

Yeah, that is true. Before Iran had G3s.. Now they are converting to their domestic made kh2002

Same thing as canada vs us.

Canada is basicly the same thing as the US in PR.

But the distance between the similarity of the MEC and Iran are much greater than Canada and the US.

(Plus MEC is just a bad idea. Not to mention unrealistic)

Maybe when the Iranian faction is completed MEC will get renamed to the Arab (League/Coalition) Forces or something like that.

Currently because of spring break, alot of the guys are off on vacation. So we are on hold atm.
