Instead of dying , the team (noobless) the is being beaten is just retreating and avoiding deaths while the other is taking the objective.

I doubt that the SQ leader would sent out the medic to revive all of the fallen members if he can make a Rally Point instead...

"Retreating" or falling back in PR only happens maybe 1 out of 5 times during a firefight, even if that. This isn't WW1. You aren't going to be going head on towards an enemy force, you are going to be going in at many different angles and flanking. If you are surrounded, its pretty rare that you will be able to fall back.Howitzer wrote:Instead of dying , the team (noobless) the is being beaten is just retreating and avoiding deaths while the other is taking the objective.

But you see, it's a 'flawless' round, and since lagging off a roof is not a 'flawless' action, it will not happen.TheOldBreed wrote:at somepoint, somewhere, some fella will always die. always. even if it's lagging off a roof haha

I remember flawless one sided rounds on Al Kufrah. BMP03's raped the Bradley's then cpped out and MEC won with no deaths. Happened a few times.

There is a difference between flawless individual aspects and flawless strategy. However, it only pertains to one side.
You must consider that you are speaking in terms of of equality. Each team has the same skill, same weapons, same knowledge, ect...
The answer is, Yes you can run a perfect strategy without loss of life on each side. The answer is also No, a team can never be truly flawless.
I.E. most boring game of PR ever

If you hit that "optimized" spot in the upper right corner of the grey area you could come to that "theoretical conclusion" that the round would be a draw since every player would have perfomed equaly good.RELEASE_THE_KRAKEN wrote:Through days of research and function modeling, I have developed a shitty graph explaining the quality of team A versus the the quality of team B.
As you can see, as one team approaches flawless, the other team approaches noob. Both teams being flawless does not exist because the point does not lie on the curve.
Also note the equilibrium that most games fall into as more often than not, both teams are made up of average players. So most games lie somewhere around the gray point.
i'll go back to studying...meh

The only flawless way to play is not to play.

Re: The perfect PR Round: No deaths?
combat = death
combat simulator = simulated death
If there are no deaths in a game in a combat simulator, somebody isn't doing something "flawless." That requires premature retreat and no counter-attack.
Interesting idea, though.

In insurgency, it wouldn't be possible - insurgents MUST kill the BLUFOR. BLUFOR MUST arrest/kill insurgents. In insurgency, only one team may be flawless.

A flawless game will only reduce the causalties effective tactics are made to lessen the losses, but not zero them.

I found this sentence quite funny and since this is a war game forum I will put it here. No offense to the french just a good laugh.
"Going to war without France is like going deer hunting without an accordion. All you do is leave behind a lot of noisy baggage."

I believe that if there is no re-spawn, no-death round is do-able.

Very very interesting idea!
Thank you for deploying it.
I think it will require new logics though?
If i may suggest, i think that your first step, must be to throw all the logical arguments out, getting completly rid of them and then start your search from a fresh brain so to say, into the future.

Define irony. A bunch of guys playing PR year after year. A game teaching initiative as the prime mover.
However, in regard to EA, these guys never took the initiative.

Maybe the other team could be so fast that they capture all the points without firing a shot.
That would be flawless to me.
But also boring.

"Every mission can be accomplished without killing anyone"
Meh, that reminds me of Fallout 1. Too bad it's impossible in PR... as the others said, there's no such thing as a "flawless" round without any casualties. Not for both teams at least.
