For the love of god APC/IFVers, transport squads!
I don't know how annoying it is, but as an armored vehicle driver, it grinds my gears when other APC or IFV drivers just ignore squads that seem to be trying to get somewhere but will take forever to do it. Please, transport infantry squads places, because helicopters are big "shoot me" targets, and you are the best possible transport in the world, being able to shoot at things that threaten you, and when you dismount you aren't immediately shot.
So please, for an infantry squad leader's sanity and mine, transport the troops. You're terrible at everything else.

Re: For the love of god APC/IFVers, transport squads!
Last 2 games on Karbala I was in Stryker squads. In both games we stayed close to troops and transported as much as we can. Not because they asked us (they didn't) but because we choose to. Could have worked out much better if the infantry communicated with us.
However most infantry squads just do not how to work with strykers. Most likely because APCs and the like have such a long history of being used as light tanks. I think both infantry and transport/support vehicles have lots to learn.

+1 on that, I don't even bother for asking APC transport because they all think this is somethig like gunship and go forward to cap, and if I ask for heli trans the pilots argue who to come LOL

Tell that to the vehicle that destroys other tanks, kills whole squads of infantry, spearheads and attack, shoots down attack helicopters and alot of the time is more effective than a tank.Hunt3r wrote:You're terrible at everything else.

Ask for it and I'll be there as fast as I could. If you don't then I have better things to do.

IFV. Bradleys/BMPs are some of the most versatile weapons in the game. To underestimate their application as light tanks is to ignore their ample armament.Draakon wrote:In that team, the enemy team sucked. If both teams are equal, no way a APC could had done that.
Not only did you make his statement not make sense, but you removed the entire point of his post.Fixed.
If you don't ask, don't expect anything. If it happens, great; don't expect them to do anything for you unless you ask them to.

Also...
So please, for my gunners sanity and mine, call for transport. You wont look like an idiot when you get wiped out.

Re: For the love of god APC/IFVers, transport squads!
This happened to me a while ago, I was the APC squad lead and we had 2 APC's going, We were providing fire supporton al jabal and infantry comes up behind us, and where like "Thanks for giving us a ride" meanwhile we had been firing on the city for a while now, and at no point did they ask for transport. Not through mumble, or through anything, I just couldnt beleive it.
Then I have had other matches, where we go support infantry squads and they turn around and ask for a ride. My imediate responce is always, "Hop in, where to?"...If the squads don't ask for a ride they/re not going to get it. But if they do, I'm always happy to give them a ride, if you have ever been in my APC squad you have probablly have me tell you "primary is transport, other than that, provide as much support as you can"
TL;DR
If you don't ask it's your own fault, APC's may be required elsewhere and not be in your immeiate area.

APC stands for Armored Personnel Carrier. Do what it is meant for. I always try to do this, but when I'm not squad leading, my damn SL always wants to go out and hunt on expeditionary missions to seek out many points and virigins. Its so damn annoying when at the end of the round, everyones like, we could've won it with you APCs, but NO!!

its not that apcs go off alone to the frontline, just anyone goes to the front, no one defends.
the day ppl get the patience to fight step by step, squads will be transported and apcs will be weaved into the fighting element

Re: For the love of god APC/IFVers, transport squads!
Personally, I'd be content with a vehicle that can shrug off RPGs, and not forced to retreat or falter when engaged. And perhaps one that can fire all of the most powerful non-guided munitions the game has to offer.Draakon wrote:While it can carry infantry, yes, it really lacks turret rotation speed. I mean, would you prefer a vehicle that can take out enemy RPG dudes faster(because of turret rotation speed is high) without them having a change to shoot a round at you, or a vehicle with a low turret rotation speed, which gives the enemy RPG dudes to have a change on hitting you.
Edit: ROF is in the equasion as well, especcialy with HE rounds.

You can never be perfect enough to kill every RPG and miss every IED, so like mongol id rather have a merk and be able to take the hits.
