Chossing asset before game (competition or events)
Hi everybody,
I just came up with an idea and want to tell it.
Let's say we are in a Karbala event. The USA commender (ingame) can choose wich asset he wants (exept for jets)
They have 290 tickets
Now:
1 crow : 15 tickets
3 trans humvee : 30 tickets
2 .50 humvee : 20 tickets
2 supply truck : 20 tickets
1 trans truck : 15 tickets
1 tank : 70 tickets
2 lb : 80 tickets
2 stryker : 40 tickets
If the commender (with the SL's permisson or according to the plan) choose that it is an inf game for them
ex:
4 crow: 60 tickets
4 .50 humvee: 40 tickets
2 trans truck: 30 tickets
4 supply truck: 80 tickets
Total: 210
So when the team use less then the amount of tickets they have, the tickets left goes for the game so they start with 330 instead of 250. ( i know it is too much, but if it is possible, this will be balanced)
Or if the team decided to go with a with a mecanized/cas team:
2 tanks: 140 tickets
1 apache: 70 tickets
1 stryker: 40 tickets
1 supply truck: 20 tickets
2 crow: 30 tickets
2 trans humvee: 20 tickets
this gave a total of -100 tickets so the team will start with 150 tickets instead of 250
Cost approx:
Light trans (huey): 30
Big trans chopper (chinook): 40
Attack chopper: 50
Heavy chopper(apache): 80
APC (stryker/lav): 40
Tanks: 70
.50 humvee: 10
AA humvee: 20
TOW humvee: 25
CROW humvee: 15
Trans humvee: 10
Trans truck: 15
Supply truck: 20
So it could get a completely new gaming experience in the same map and with different strategies

interesting .... i dont know how i feel about it though ... this COULD potentialy stop assets from being wasted .. BUT! Is it realisitc? having the comander place a Tank place a Humvee... place a Helo then the sqads roll away lol..... i mean yea it makes some sort of sense but it wont work as well as you describe ... what if there isnt a comander?? .... No vehicles?? :O what if the cmoander is busy?? every one is stuck at main..?? OR COMANDER AFK??!?!? then what were all screwd untill he gets Mutinied .. then one person at a time will go in as comander then place a vehcle they want and LEAVe the positoin ..... Exploit ..... I think Normal game mode is Good ....
plus what do u do about noob comanders wasting tickets seting As many vehicles as he can ... trying to glitch the game or somthing stupid like that ...?
Good idea but ... i dont know if its practical -_-
Suggest for ARMA2PR i think that game already has a system similar to this ... Or i may be mistaken

Thanks for your comments redamare, but the asset are choose before the game starts if possible and for the beginning, it will only be in PR events and stuff like that to prevent things you wrote up there to happen.

Yeah I posted a similar system in suggestions a while ago, if you have ever played empires mod for HL2 its a very interesting gamemode.

I don't think the code will allow it to happen, if you wanted different assets to spawn, you'd have to select a different mode because the assets spawning and their ticket amount is controlled by a tweak file that isn't editable in realtime.

Ok,
But let say in the PR tournament you mean the commender COULD choose his assets and stuff, but only before the game. Staying in the tournament, if it works, will it be possible to hide the asset used by blufor to make a very little effect of surprise for the insurgent (in a ins map) and they could choose their asset too (how many car, bomb car, big red, gary ...)

I believe that is hard coded to be able select different assets for spawning
of course sandbox mode had something kind of similar to this(not really) so you said you can only purchase in the beginning what if there is no commander in the beginning>?

Very true ... sand box DOES have a similar additive ... Whats wrong with the origional system?
Why are your assets so expensive? IE 70 Tickets for a tank.. rofl.
Also, you could basically just pool all your assets into powervehicles, such as tanks and attack helicopters.

they do have something close to that in Arma though so you can try your luck there once Arma PR.1 comes out

im not sure about the system what we have now but maybe month ago i was playing kashan and our squad just destroyed maybe 5 enemy tanks,few apc`s,we killed infantry.Dev1200 wrote:Whats wrong with the origional system?

maybe we shotted down few helis also.
but we lost round still what was just odd.
i think that if your forces lost 5 tanks in some desert,you have to fallback there.

too bad that we dont have commanders in pub-games.
