If you guys had searched the forum you would have found me having the same problem, however I also found the solution: just start the game as administrator (if you have a shortcut on the desk board right-click it and there you will see an option to run it as admin)

If you are using mumble at the same time go into settings and check in "Audio Output" if "Other applications" is at 100% if not - try increasing the value.
In Win7 and I believe Vista there is a similar option in the sound settings regarding this:
Open the "Sound" window by right clicking on the speaker icon next to the clock, then select "Playback devices". In the new window "Sound" you will have a tab named "Communications". This should either be at "Do nothing" or "Reduce the volume of other sounds by 50%" at most. Set it to "Do nothing" to test it.

Got a PROBLEM? Check this: PR:BF2 Installation Guide
Got a common QUESTION? check here first: PR:BF2 FAQ, MUMBLE FAQ
"Hello, IT! ... Yes, have you tried turning it on and off again?"

Couldnt find a "communications" tab in vista, and I followed the set bit depth guide and all my stuff was set up the way they said to.

Happened to me, I enabled a lot of stuff, installed REALTEK audio manager and it worked.
